Strike Force Miami drew a total of 517,000 viewers (just below the record set by Gina Carano in August of 576,000 viewers).

The REPLAY of UFC 107 drew 2.2 million viewers.

That's why companies are willing to pay a lot more endorsement money to UFC fighters than Strike Force Fighters. If you sponsored Diego Sanchez, for example, your logo would have been seen in the live UFC showing (620,000 PPVs) plus the replay on Spike (2.2 million). That's well over 3 million views or almost 6x as much as Strikeforce. Keep in mind, UFC Unleashed will likely air that Diego/BJ fight for years to come.

And that, is why Fedor would make a shiatload more money in the UFC than Strikeforce even with his 10% ownership of M1...

Also, most fighters make the majority of their money from sponsors not UFC contracts. And, the sponsors pay them big bucks because the UFC creates so much TV air time. Anyone on a televised UFC bout will make at least $20,000 in sponsor money. The top fighters up to $500,000k.

So now it's the sponsors paying their salaries and not the UFC. So, in reality, the UFC isn't paying their fighters much. Thanks for admitting that.

Strikeforce smashed the UFC's counter programming attempt when they were on CBS the last time with Fedor/Rogers. I think it was something like the 7th most watched televised MMA event of all time. I expect the next CBS Strikeforce card to win the battle next month as well.

Not really. Fedor can get special deals in Strikeforce because they are a smaller organization that needs a brand-name fighter and he's Fedor, so Strikeforce will give him what he wants. In the UFC, Fedor has to play by their rules and doesen't get special treatment: no major share of PPV earnings, no copromotion with his company and Fedor doesen't get to fight when he wants but when White wants. Who cares that in the UFC Fedor's fights will be wartched by more people and will make more total revenues if Fedor's share of those revenues will be much smaller? These simple facts are too complicated for you to understand, but I keep trying nonetheless. $:-\$

1. The UFC pays its fighters better than any other organization, and they do it while remaining profitable. Why is this last part important ? By remaining profitable, the UFC ensures that it will be around a long time and that is can consistently put out more shows. The fighters benefit by having a reliable organization to find employment in.

2. suckmymuscle, is correct. Because of who he is, Fedor is able to get special deals. However, it is at the expense of other fighters and the organization itself. Look at what happened with Affliction. You all saw what Fedor and his crew were getting paid. Not only did this take away from other fighters, but outlandish compensation like what Affliction was doing, is one of the key factors that ultimately lead to its demise. The result? Fedor didn't get paid and a whole bunch of fighters are out of work.

3. *ChuteBoxe* is right, but think about what you Fedor nuthuggers are celebrating. That a LIVE and highly promoted event on free network TV, with the "Worlds Greatest Heavyweight", beat a UFC rerun on cable...lol! That's a victory?..hah ha ha! All the UFC had to do was to do a replay, and they managed to take over 1 million viewers away from the best that Strikeforce had to offer. I wonder how that Fedor card would have done against a free live UFC event with Brock vs. Mir or Carwin...lol.
