I personally don't understand how one lets them self go from one extreme to another. At my heaviest on, I was 257. Off I'm 220 but still look like I work out, although not as thick or strong. These guys with the extreme "makeover" obviously completely turn their back on the whole bodybuilding lifestyle, including juice, eating right, supplementing and even working out. I just don't get how that can be your whole life and passion for so many years and you have nothing to do with it anymore.

Because (intelligent) people realize that there are other priorities in life then injecting a bunch of juice, putting on a glittery thong and slapping on pro tan and prancing around a stage on the weekends.. people have obligations, families, jobs, careers, some get sick and can't continue, etc. everyone has a different reason why they quit the 'dream' . Tom Prince and Flex Wheeler lost their kidneys, Matarazzo had heart failure, etc. etc.

In my opinion, its psychological. The pros juice and get crazy big. However, when they stop competing, and lay off the juice, why eat healthy and train? I mean, you won't be as big as you were before. If they can't juice and be huge, they won't settle for being natural and just being mediocre. It an "All-Or-Nothing" mentality. They can't have a happy medium. Yes, it's flawed logic, but people who stick that much shit into their body definitely have flawed cognitive perceptions of themselves and reality. Actually, the "All-Or-Nothing" mentality is very much akin to clinical depression. These people only see the bad side of things. They never see the good side. Same with bodybuilders and their physique.

Most people are happy with being decently built.

like everyone said the extremes on both ends is a shock,,but then u have labrada,gaspari,haney,demey,at least them resemble a former great something ,and still sport some muscle demey,too still lean and vascular gaspari,and good shape labrada,i wonder if the era they competed in was more in the way loved to train,diet,and take what they took at the time but when they came off or hrt is what helped them stay muscular...
