Arnold retired in 1975 and the next year he and Jim co-promoted the Mr. Olympia in Columbus. every year since, (i don't think they missed any year) they have had a contest in Columbus. in 1985 it became the Arnold classic.

So impressed was he with Jim's organization of the show that he wanted to partner up with him once he retired from competing. One has to assume that since Columbus, Ohio is the birthplace of that bond, if you will, is the reason the ASC is always held there.
