Errr, I don't understand.....
« on: March 03, 2010, 08:55:37 PM »
the point of people attending training seminars by the pros. I mean, nutrition is scientific, and lifting is scientific to a certain extent; however, it isn't fucking brain surgery either. I mean, how many ways can one possibly do a dumbbell row? Do you really need to pay for a seminar, so that a pro can show you how to do a dumbbell row? Have any schmoes getbiggers here attended these seminars? Did you enjoy it? Did you find it useful that someone told you not to lift the weight too slow or too fast? Doesn't common sense dictate this? So, why do people waste money attending these seminars?

Please enlighten me.

sincerely,

SF1900

I went to Milos' free seminar a few years ago. It was interesting to hear different philosophies on training/nutrition.

Alot of people have different opinions on how it's all done so it's cool to check it out and possibly pick something up.

Got ya. But it was free. Would you pay to go to a seminar?

What is there really "new" to learn. Train hard, eat, sleep, repeat. The shit ain't rocket science. I wouldn't pay a penny to attend a "seminar."

Me? No.

So, basically, you're indirectly saying that the money you spend is not equivalent to the knowledge you will receive? Makes sense.

I agree. I think training and nutrition is incredibly simple. All the info can be had online these days anyway and there's no need for a seminar. It's probably just fun to go there to meet people though.

Most people with "new theories" are purposely creating strange, crackpot theories just to be different and controversial, just to gain attention, get people talking and make money.

I agree. A good way to make money is to create controversy.

It might be worth the money for someone that is going into bbing, but I'm not, so no it's not worth it to me.

But for someone just starting out or interested in trying different variations, a seminar may show them a different way.

Does Milos still believe in 40 different exercises per bodypart (that's not an exaggeration)?

Isn't Goodrum putting on a semina.rt at the Arnold.  His website says he charges $3000 plus expenses for seminar ranging from business to training.

I always liked listening to Dorian's online seminars there was a 4 parter on MD recently.

You can always believe you know everything but it's better to look at what others are doing.

SF1900 you have one of the best Avatar's i've seen in a while.

Yeah, I agree about listening to Dorian. I never minded listening to him. Some of the others I can't stand hear talk. I think I'd go nuts listening to Ronnie Coleman give a seminar lol. Obviously, he knows his stuff, but I think after 3 minutes I'd want to jam a screwdriver into my ear.

As for the avatar, thanks  ;D Unfortunately, those are not my hands  >:( lol

Actually, the correct word is "you're."

Nope, I am 28. You don't think RC knows his stuff? I never said that drugs and years of hard training didn't play a role in his success. However, he does know more than most people starting out (I would like to think). I never said he was an expert trainer or scientific scholar who studied exercise and nutrition.

Epic fail on your part.

If it's so simple then why arn't more people looking like pro's. Plenty of guys who take more drugs than pro's and train hard but look nothing like them.

Right so we shouldn't listen to guys like Dorian or Ronnie on what they have done over the years.

Good to see you know everything. I'm done here.

GENETICS,duh

Genetics and drugs are just the finishing touch. Well, according to Chick drugs are the finishing touches. However, I think most pros look like that because they take Anator-P70. It is scientifically proven than Anator-P70 changes your genetic make-up. I mean, Jay Cutler is clearly holding up supplements made by Muscle-Tech when he endorses them. He must use them. That's why he got so big.
