It's genetic. No one can drink like the Irish... most people here have two copies of the strong version of the gene that codes for alcohol processing.

Most Irish can drink a couple of beers an hour, every hour, all day long and still pass a breathalyser (ie: alcohol is processed as quickly as it is consumed with no backlog at that rate).
