epic leans , what the fuck do you eat , tuna and water 5 time s a day ?

All right you ask a decent question then I'll treat you decently. I actually get asked this a lot via PM. I think most people, even on a bodybuilding board, would rather be more on the lean side. Even if you have great arms, chest and shoulders, if you have a gut it spoils everything.

I'd like to talk about how hard and how long I've been training and how I keep a pretty disciplined life style but there are others that easily surpass me but aren't as lean. Like so many things in life, it's just genetics. I never really paid attention until the 7th grade when some girl said how disgusting my arms looked because it was so veiny. Bodybuilders like it but the general public is repulsed by it. Even more so with vascularity. When I'm training on a hot day I'm literally covered with tiny little veins. All along my chest, stomach, legs, back. I look like a fucking reptile. I once went on a super high sodium diet to try to hold more water so that I wouldn't be as vascular. I just ended up getting high blood pressure. I just live with it and would not even think about it but hardly a day goes by when I'm out in public where someone doesn't say something. I was at the mall yesterday picking up a GPS and some lady comes up to me and says that I need to drink more water. She can tell I'm dehydrated because of all the veins. I told her I drink about 1.5-2 gallons of water a day and from the time I weigh myself in the morning to when I weigh myself before bed I routinely put on 5-7 pounds.

You look ripped to shreds Pellius.

The veins are just genetic, I was pretty vascular when i was about twelve yeards old, not anatomy chart vascular like yourself admittedly  :) but it varies. I remember a thread on bodybuilding.com asking how to get vascular going on forever.

Well, I hope to see some results on my tris after a couple of months doing Groink's close grip decline tricep press.

I’ve been hitting golds the last week or so.. getting into shape..  I read that Groinks post about the decline close grip press too.. I tried it out during my arm workout and I have to say that it beats the flat bench version all to hell. I actually got sore right in the meat of my tricept.. Fucking fantastic, great contraction.. I’m looking forward t the results as well.

:o :o... this inspired me to pop 20mg of winstrol.. just now ;D

You're right about veins just being genetic. I mean, you can't be a fatty but you don't have to be low single digits. Look at Cutler, on stage at 4% but hardly any veins and zero vascularity. I was in town on Tuesday and got to work out at a real gym, 24 hr, and someone asks me, "What's your body fat, 5%?" I figure I'm more like 7-8% because I have no striations in my triceps and forget about striated glutes -- lol!

I was about 12-13 years old too when I noticed the veins because that's when the other kids started commenting about it.

Just one question, do you lock out or just keep continuous tension? I rarely lock out on any pressing movements. Also, do you use a straight bar or the curl bar?

I'll make the team yet.

Lock out. I go up to 335 on my close grips and I like to lock out....pause....then do another rep. At that weight I need a sec to think about if I have another rep in me or I'm going to snap my wrists  ;D

I do straight bar curls with alternating width.  wide, narrow, wide ,narrow.  I don't get all fucking anal about form either, when you train heavy you simply CAN"T maintain perfect, slow, zero-momentum form. I try and hit what i call the "sweet spot" where I'm using a bit of momentum at the end of the set but you don't lose the mental connection to the muscle.

It's when you get to the point that the ONLY thing that matters is getting the weight from point A to point B and you are contorting your body any which way to do it...then you are training too heavy.

I have some INSANE back and delt exercises that you would love  8)

335 lbs! Fuk, I'm so pathetic in the moving weight department.

Actually, I meant what kind of bar do you use for the decline tricep press? Judging by the weight you use it's got to be the straight bar and I assume you are not using a thumbless grip -- doesn't that kill your elbows?

This site has inspired me to pay more attention to my weight training. I've only just recently started doing incline chest work. It's all been pretty much flat bench movements with both free weights and machines super setting with a fly type movement.

I've been blessed with some pretty stout elbows i guess, so far.. so good.

Also my grip isn't super close...i would guess my thumbs are about 8 inches apart, my wrists would snap with the traditional "thumbs touching" grip.

And yup...I'm thumbless. I've always used it and it's just second nature...I've never come close to dumping the weight (knocks wood)

Not daily. Weekly. Maybe every few days at most. I used to smoke too much. I've found every now and then is much better. It's a good life supplement.

Pellius is a solid owner....he just needs to get the aloof...."what you say means nothing" thing down a little better  ;D

Agreed, brutha. I used to give pellius a lot of shit just for the hell of it, but the dude is da man...an owner worthy of getbig Supreme Council membership.

You are the standard but which all owners are measured. You and chaos made me evil. I'm still cutting my teeth on small timers like slacker, sev and mjk. I know I'm on the right track when they start sending me PMs either threatening me or wanting a truce.

And I think surviving my attempt at suicide you drove me to made me a better and stronger person.
