True or False?
« on: March 12, 2010, 06:13:10 AM »
President Obama would not have won the 2008 election without the Hillary Clinton supporters.

Very true, Beach.  Independents are leaving the Obama bandwagon in droves.  It will be interesting to see where they end up in 2012.

It all depends who the repubs run.

A competent, mature and dignified candidate could win 55% of the popular vote in a blowout.

A mess of a candidate who gets disshelved in the debates... suddenly people see Obama as experienced and prepared, and the other person as an unknown.  it just takes one stupid answer, and suddenly you have a perceived middle schooler onstage talking to a college grad about how education works.  A palin, pawlenty, or Romney lecturing obama on foreign policy or defense would be asinine - he is Bush military policy with 4 years at the top of the food chain - hearing Palin humor us with "i'm WAY more prepared than Barrack to face our enemies" would be foolish.

GOP needs to run an experienced and CONFIDENT person in 2012.  No lib screaming (rudy), no hand notes and one-liners (palin), no idiots (you know who the dumbs ones are).

Run two very boring, very professional candidates, and win.  It's that simple.

I think its dead on.  He's too far left.  Maybe the question is, can he get enough new voters for the 2012 election?

You are exactly right, 240 and OzmO.  The Republican party, although they've shown some courage in fighting this attempt to bludgeon the Constitution, BETTER NOT think they can just waltz into the November elections with more RINO theology.  They best be bring their 'A' game (feels weird using that term now that Tiger got busted for extra-marital booty tappin') with some very viable candidates along the lines of Mike Pence, Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, etc.  It's all a guessing game though.  Look at Scott Brown.

Yep, his upside has fallen drastically in my opinion.  It started with his endorsement of Judge Sotomayor.  He's been acting like a jackass ever since.
