It's obvious that stoolpusher Vince has never been to SoCal or he would realize the type of clientele Coach is going for.

I was not addressing you but while you're not an internet troll, you are however an arrogant jughead who thinks his shit doesn't stink, talks way too much about politic which annoys even me since I'm a Republican, and has no idea as to the job of being personal trainer.

Fact is that you would never make it as a personal trainer in a smaller area where you couldn't just pick and choose your clients which is something you should not do anyway.  You attitude sucks, you use vulgar langange in your blogs and you can't even call yourself a sports conditioning specialist when you didn't even finish college.

Get you head out of your ass and never think that you're a better trainer than me.  I would never just throw someone to the side.  Trainers work through clients difficulties and help them out...not just shove them out the door when they don't "measure up to your standards"

Don't matter where in the world he trains, every client should be treated with respect and if they ask for help, then its the trainer's job to do so as much as they can

Vince...you delusional f**k, not once have I ever said I would throw someone to the side. On the general population side of our business we work with people from all walks of life, from the obese to Alzheimer's and they all have one thing in common.....they want to work and get help. I can't work with people who won't put the effort in to HELP THEMSELVES if they fight against me or any other of my trainers, we cannot help them.

Vince, don't even go there about training knowledge and a calling myself a "sports conditioning specialist"...I don't call myself that..........dick head!

Amazing how clueless you are. Why is college a prerequisite to being a successful coach and trainer? Cus D'Amato and Freddie Roach don't have a college degree and produce great champions. Arthur Jones didn't even finish high school. Charles Glass makes no mention of a college degree. Even Milos list various education regarding nutrition and anti-aging but no mention of an actual college degree. Whereas there are countless PT's with degrees and a host of certifications that never competed in a sport, are not in shape, and just parrot the latest rage they learned in a classroom or self-study course like "core", Swiss Ball, and kettle bell training which most are meaningless and some counter productive.

Coach is a far more successful trainer than you and works with some world class athletes and is financially successful. Coach is also in far better shape than you have ever achieved in your life. He actually looks like he works out. You really don't.

And you want to talk about "working through client's difficulties" and getting rid of people "who don't measure up"? Try to read, if your attention span will allow, Arthur Jones' biography. He'd throw someone like you out the door just by looks alone. And if you even think about resisting you'd be looking down the barrel of a Model 48 Smith and Wesson.

Once again, Melvin the delusional one, you are wrong on everything.

Funny you mention Freddie Roach, when I was watching the Pacquiao fight my wife and I were actually talking about that and how great of a trainer (conditioning as well) he is and how he wasn't a great fighter but turned out to be one of the best boxing trainers ever.

But can you imagine how much better Roach would have been if he had a college degree and was PT certified and got to put CSN MFT after his name?

And lets not forget the most successful MMA coach, Gregg Jackson. To be honest, I don't know if he went to college or not. He did wrestle but doesn't mention at what level. The point is that whether or not he went to college he felt it was so insignificant to what he actually does and has accomplished that he makes no mention of it.

As a previous poster mentioned, it's amazing how Melvin sees the world. His level of delusion and wanton self-deception is truly mind boggling. It is obvious to everyone except Melvin. How can this be?

Throughout my career in emergency medicine I have been amazed at the human capacity for self-delusion; we are the only animal in nature that can lie to itself. We do it so well that the majority of people are totally unaware of what motivates their actions, most people do not act to achieve consciously named goals; rather, they act to placate subconscious psychological value conflicts.

I don't think he wants to.

I believe I have a decent understanding of what the Intense One has planned.

Every type of gym has a target demographic – even if it is the general public.
Joe’s facility will not handle, cater, or appeal to circuit training soccer moms or guys who’s weekly regimen consists chest & biceps (often done inside the only available power rack) 4X/week.

Joe possesses a real world reputation and offers unique services (over the cookie-cutter ACE graduates) along with the appropriate environment for the clients who are seeking these kinds of things.
And I doubt that having a BS that qualifies him to be a phys-ed teacher would benefit him at this point.

Of course he’s not gonna have the same membership volume as a 24-Hr Fitness, but neither is his overhead.
In addition to that balancing ratio, I’m sure his MMA guys & other athletes are going to pay him more than $25/hr. because he’s worth a lot more than the “franchise” PT’s who all not only wear the same clothes, but train every client the same way – texting on their phones while counting reps out loud.

Congrats on the gym.  Couple of questions: will there be bible study sessions in the afternoons?  Are there going to be plasma screens with Hannaty & Glen Beck all over the place?  Will Lori be giving private PT sessions?

Thank you :)
