I have two friends who have been so neutered by their wives that they can't look at internet porn,  they have been brow beaten but they both have hiding spots for their dvds.  I have a feeling there are lots of dudes out there like this.

How fucking sad.

BTW, I highly recommend Netflix. Huge selection, and many are available to stream, so you can still watch stuff while you wait for DVD's.

Couldnt agree more.  I have literally sat in a movie and said "I wonder what rip off of another movie this will be".  I was buying my movie tickets at Costco to defray the cost of the ticket ($7.50/ticket down from $9.50).....now, I go to the first matinee show of the day on Sundays and pay $5.00/ticket.  I bring a powerade zero (.79 cents) and a large bag of M&M's ($3.29).  So, I come away spending only $14.10.  Plus there is usually only 5 - 10 other people in the theater.  Even 3-D movies.  Its great.  I still do torrents because some are not even worth the $5.00/ticket.

Yeah mainstream movies suck. They are not meant to be good movies. They are basicially entertainment business ventures designed to make profit. Formula plots and ltos of marketing without the substance.

If you want to see good movies, watch low budget, indie or foreign films. Where they actually had a goal of making a good movie.

And I can see why blockbuster is going under. Who the fuck rents movies anymore?
