The fact of the matter is that we are already spending much more than we would need to spend to give every citizen complete and free coverage.  :)

We are already spending much more on automobiles than we would need to spend to give every citizen a  2008 Suzuki Reno.

Some people are spending $200k+ on their car, what right do they have to do so, when they could put that money into the community pot and contribute it to a family that can't afford a car!!!

::)

sidenotes:

io: gov beaucuracy? no, gov resourcing pooling to give all citizens the ability to have access to a vital service that they otherwise couldnt afford on their own. btw, if a person doesnt believe in government(opposes government programs) then why the hell are they interested in politics? lol!

mattc: you are racist, elitist, misinformed, misguided, and the mouth on the nutsack of america.

Tbombz, you are missing some key points, but I wouldn't expect anything less from a disadvantaged, impaired mind like yours.

Answer these questions for me:

- With 10% more patients in the system, what's going to happen to the quality of health care?
- Who wants to go through 4 years of med school, then 5 years of residency (while accruing hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt) to make $150K/year?
- What will happen to specialists who have worked extremely hard for extra education when they are paid the same as family practitioners?
- Why are we adding 16,000 IRS agents to the govt payroll to audit this monstrosity?
- What makes you think govt is going to do a better job with this system than they did with Social Security and Medicare (EPIC FAILURES)?
- Where do you think the best doctors are going to practice medicine? NOT IN AMERICA WHERE THEIR INCOMES ARE LIMITED.  WATCH THEM FLOCK TO OTHER COUNTRIES.  THIS IS ALREADY HAPPENING.  SEE COSTA RICA.
- How is the US going to pay down the growing deficit?  Keynesian economics are not infinite in nature, at some point, this is all going to end badly.
- Have you spoken with any doctors about their thoughts on this bill?  EVEN THE DIE HARD LIBERAL DOCTORS ARE APPALLED AND LEAVING THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY BECAUSE OF THIS BILL.

Stop believing what you see on TV, shitforbrains.

so he was profiting off of charging huge premiums, cutting costs at the expense of human life, and denying coverage to those who need it and you find this right?  Insurance companies are scumbags, health care should not be a business, that is disgusting!

I assume he already yanks millions upon millions from overcharging people as well since there is no regulations which is despicable.  Also making money in finding a way to deny coverage to a person who needs a life saving operation but try's to find a way to drop the person to save some $$$.  WOW great guy! I call him a murder, death panel employee.  We need over seer's of this industry, if not they will take you and your life away at the expense of there next vacation to the exotic islands, fuckin greedy assholes.

The current group of Democrats are ELITISTS.  To pass this bill against the American public's will is a slap in the face.  Essentially, they are saying they know what's best for us - even if we don't think so.

What's a "reasonable" price?  Are professional athletes paid "reasonably?"  Wall St. bankers?  Lawyers?

Who's to decide what's reasonable?

What do you suppose he is doing with that money?  It is either in the banking system or being used to increase the operational efficiencies of his business, i.e., it is being used to serve the health care needs of individuals even better in the future.  Now with a parasite class taking this money, productive people will get even worse coverage and get sick and/or die as a result.  Is that fair?  As for how health care should not be a business, who do you think produces all of the medical technology and medicine that you benefit from?  Was it created in a socialist commune or by a corporation?  Now that the USA has a socialized medical system, Canada can no longer free ride off the US technological innovations as we have been.  Oh yes, things are wonderful here:

http://www.vancouversun.com/health/Thousands+surgeries+Metro+Vancouver+leaked+paper+reveals/1878506/story.html

In Canada we aren't denied coverage for expensive medicine and other health care measures - these things simply don't exist to begin with!!!

It's so horrible to have to pay a million dollars for a new cancer fighting drug - it's so much better to simply not have the option whatsoever.  ::)

wow stupid post all around, insurance companies help the healthcare industry, they supply money for drugs? LMAO. Do you know the markup on xanax for example it's in the 100,000 percentile, it's robbery, all other businesses have a 90% mark-up cap, but not the pharmaceutical agencies, they can do as they please, profit more then any other business in the world and still offer shit and doctored studies. Healthcare for every citizen makes sense for the collective good, money should never be worth more then lives. Sure it sucks for run of the mill illnesses, but that kid with neuroblastoma with no money can now have a chance at living, insted of dying on the street in the name of profit. Doctors should have the patients interest in mind, any doctor in the profession to make money is a bad doctor. Getting fair pay is fine, and we deserve it but if thats your motive then gtfo. I dont know seeing sick kids with cancer kinda skews my view though, perhaps your right, only those who work hard should get the benefits of proper and urgent healthcare. Oh wait, isnt SES a risk factor for poor health, oh shit it is.

Healthcare for every citizen makes sense for the collective good, money should never be worth more then lives. You're very idealistic and this bill FORCES this idealism on people who have worked hard for the money they've earned.  This bill also highlights a cultural problem in America right now.  Nothing is free, folks.  There's a very real price to be paid here: its called an increase in health care recipients, but a decrease in the quality of care.  Prepare yourself for long waits. Sure it sucks for run of the mill illnesses, but that kid with neuroblastoma with no money can now have a chance at living, insted of dying on the street in the name of profit. Run of the mill businesses?  What's a run of the mill business?  I might work for one, based on your definition. Doctors should have the patients interest in mind, any doctor in the profession to make money is a bad doctor. Doctors want to have a nice lifestyle, it's what kept many of them going while they were working 36 hour shifts as an intern.  Most of them have worked EXTREMELY hard to have that MD after their name, and this bill is going to reduce the incentive to become a doctor. Getting fair pay is fine, and we deserve it but if thats your motive then gtfo. I dont know seeing sick kids with cancer kinda skews my view though, perhaps your right, only those who work hard should get the benefits of proper and urgent healthcare. If you actually work for a living and can afford insurance, you are not going to be better off in the USA.

I will admit that Canada's system is pretty good and in terms of averages, is normally ranked ahead of the American system.  Having said that, Canada does not have over 10 million illegal aliens to provide health care for nor do we have the vast welfare state that the USA has.  Working class people have every reason to be upset with this bill and have a lot to lose.

Do you know the markup on xanax for example it's in the 100,000 percentile, it's robbery

Yeah, but Xanax exists at all, that's my point.

Guess what?  In Canada we don't have the ability to buy some of these drugs even if we had a BILLION dollars.  Try to understand that it is better to at least have the option than not have it at all.

What did he say about it, Doug?

Dr. Chen was really upset about "The Health Care Plan" and says that it will flop and he will lose $$$. He is Asian and was really ranting and raving about the fines for people who do not want to buy Insurance.

I have never seen him upset in all the times that i have had to come up here and see him.  :o He is always laid back but even the nurses i was speaking to were totally against it.  :-\

Great Dr. but i have taking my meds and i am trying to remember but it really upset him and some of the other specialist that i have seen over the last few months.  :-\

shouldn't doctors want to become doctors to help people?  If there choose to go to medical school so they could drive a mercedes and live in a mansion that is just wrong.  You should do your profession because you are passionate about it.

Haha, you're freaking high. i posted this yesterday. I have a client that has a huge insurance business and I asked him yesterday how this clusterfuck is going to effect his business, his response was..."We're not sure yet, but we figure it's going to cost us an EXTRA $1.5-2mil per year, it's going to hurt us".

Tbombz, you're in the wrong country.

You're an idiot if you think the large insurance companies are losing anything on this deal.

The big boys WANT to drive the smaller ins companies out of business, aided by the govt.
