I was reading a bit about this issue and a lot of the older blacks, around 70 plus REALLY can`t stand this phenomenon.  They see portraying Black Women as Emasculated men as the epitome of ignorance.

Bill Cosby made a few comments on this as well.

This is a question surrounding Black Culture.  Ethnic Culture and questioning the motives behind it is not racist whatsoever.  How could it be?

No, but I find it intriguing that these sort of movies appeal so much to the targeted demographic.  Let`s face it, all of these are pure garbage, but they make a ton of money despite being horrendous to watch.  The targeted audience does not seem to mind that the movies are trash which makes me curious as to what aspects of culture draw people in to these movies.  Clearly there is some overlap in real life to some degree.

I do see that people may picture their relatives in a like way, but that does not speak much to the current longevity of this cross-dressing gimmick.  It is a relatively new phenomenon in black culture.
