If there was a plan instead of "raw anger and emotion", maybe it would make sense.   People are either part of the problem, or part of the soulution.   This is "rhetoric", which amounts to "I am angry, but I have no solution". "We hate "This Person", blah blah blah....  This splinter party is like the "Bull Moose Party", it just puts fuel, on a fire, but does not extinguish it!!!  I prefer coffee!!!

Sure, you have some who are racist, rude, or complete palin worshippers.  They get most of the attention.  Most of them are level headed, and their platform (less warfare and less welfare!) seems to make sense.

Interesting stuff.  

Among the slightly more than 200 people in attendance, there was only one 'Obama is a commie!' sign and I was the only Black (although that could've been true at the grocery store, too).

There was a broad cross-section of folks there, mainly retirees, and the more vocal individuals tended to be the least educated.  A few who grabbed the mic referenced Palin, but didn't go overboard with it.  There were a couple of attacks on Mexican immigrants and 'drug cartels' which led to them calling out the Republican leadership as well as the Dems.  

One WWII vet talked at length about bringing manufacturing jobs back to the U.S.  Another woman (one of this group's organizers) said that American wages are 'going to come down to 80 cents/hour, like China' if we don't repeal NAFTA.  Some of her comments made it clear she wanted to usher in a new era of protectionism.  

Although much of the language in today's little speeches was intended solely to whip people into a frenzy, some solid points were made and I was left with the impression that many in the crowd just want less waste and more accountability at all levels of government, starting in our city.  

All-in-all, I'm glad I went.  Yes, many of them are a little nutty, but I believe they are open to becoming at least somewhat educated about the real issues and the way things work.

I would support this movement if Palin had nothing to do with it. There are several Texas Senators who are wonderful people who are taking part in this group but every time i hear Palin squawk in her awful voice i simply cannot listen anymore. She is part of what is wrong with this entire Nation IMO.

American culture has been built upon in the last 30 plus yrs letting things get out of hand, like our health situations, our economy, immigration, etc go unchecked until there are serious issues that arise from it. Notice how apparently 50% of out population is fat? And how heart disease is a leading cause of death, but still the same fatasses go to MCDonalds and order the same fattening things, yet blame the fastfood place? And now, obesity is a disease, because people lack the will power to stop sucking up food and work out?

Notice how we used to buy almost everything on credit, and kept thinking it was okay, until that whit went unchecked? Notice how, time and fucking time again, we have relied on oil from oil barons from the middle east and other hostile countries, who care not about us, but the money from the US and  Oil Corp, now all of a sudden a big push foe hybrids and electric cars to promote Green tech---but really to stop relying of
foreign oil. Thus, echoing the "safety issues" with cars from the 70s and 80s, There were cars back in the 70s that had airbags, but Nixon nixed that, saying it wad too costly for the auto manufacturers---thinking about, he set back auto safety tech, 20-30 yrs...and then when shit hits the fan, new stuff.

Initially, the Tea Party movement was being guided by solid principles of fiscal conservatism, but at some point, it appears to have been derailed by far-right zealots who, because they don't work, have the time to devote to rabble-rousing.

everybody is entitled to their opinions about the issues...

politics is mostly a subjective matter. justice is necessary, freedom a right. beyond that, and even within defining the scope of those two claims, the matter is highly subjective. and thus open for debate.  


as for economics, its a science of interaction among labourers, businessmen, corporations, and government regulation of the sector.  


economics isnt something you can theorize on without experience and expect accurate results. you could look at a tree and figure out the best way to fertilize, grow, plant, sustain, and get more of them. only with study can it be true.

but yet economics is controlled by politics, people have a right to vote, and thus everyone thinks their opinion matters in economics.


my main point is that this tea party who calls for more jobs, better economy, less taxes...ect. great. but by what pathway? surely none of these people have any idea... all they  are is loudmouthed and arrogant


besides the main issue: third party in america .....     which  makes them totally inconsequential
