Scoop Men have it pretty easy. You can do it if you have your head on straight and do not panic.   I lost my cousin in the mine accident and i used to work for Massey.   My uncles all work for Massey Energy and are in charge of Safety.   I come from alonnggggg line of Coal Miners and many perished along the way.   Alot of good men work Coal Mines.

You rely on your partner when being a Boltman and try seeing two feet in front of your face. Try to think about putting bolts in coal while laying on your back and shit falling on you and heavy rocks.   I loved having the Raccoon eyes because some did not even have showers there.   Try and tell a coal miner that you A. Went to a tanning bed, ever. B. do not drive a jacked up truck.   Those good ole' country boys will have your back though.

To make it simple...After the coal is removed from a heading, i used a roof bolting machine to install roof supports by drilling the rock and inserting either conventional or resin roof bolts.  The bolts tie the roof strata together to control roof falls.  That is considered the most dangerous job in the coal mines.

Sore but i am walking a few feet without pain but my lower legs and feet still have open sores that are bleeding.  My g/f takes me to a Gold's and i can train upper body though so i am always going to fight.
