Well here is the problem and I think the total misunderstanding.

I have always maintained that:
A Macro Nutrient is not a Macro Nutrient, but a calorie is a calorie.  I think you may have my position misunderstood.

come on now.  No back peddling.  You've said that you can eat pretty much whatever type of food you want (pizza, ice cream, McDonalds, etc.)  and still get shredded, because according to you, a calorie is a calorie.

Dr. Connelly, on the other hand, maintains that you can reduce body fat simply by changing macro nutrient profiles WITHOUT creating a caloric deficit.

That is the gist of the argument, which I look forward to being debated.

Call me up brother...let's set it up.  I'm leaving work in an hour to start my weekend early...

Of course I can and obviously do get ripped continually eating all of the above.  

So let me get this straight, Dr. Connelly believes thats if I were to ingest 6000 calories of his choosing ie his macro profile, I would be able to get insanely shredded without cardio?

I say without cardio as I get shredded without it while eating 2500 or so calories of whatever I want.

How about we do an experiment with me to show just how wrong Connelly is if he really thinks that is what is going to happen.  I would rather PROVE his theory wrong, than debate it.

You can`t argue against established evidence, fact or Proof. (intelligently or correctly at least)

I posted this the other day: 



1. I advocate not overeating.  For instance I eat 2800-3000 calories a day.  I obviously can permit myself to have larger caloric days, but I usually keep constant at this amount.  If I want to get super ripped I just lower my calories to about 2500-2600.  If you keep an overall sensible caloric amount there is no reason whatsoever to limit your food choices (there never really is ever a reason to do so unless illness or allergy of course).  I eat anything I enjoy.

2.  Since I train heavy, I also suggest getting around .5 to 1 gram of protein per lb of bodyweight.  I do not keep track of my precise daily number as I hit that by default by what I eat. Its not difficult at all to fall around that number without even trying.

3. Macro ratios do not matter as you will get a decent ratio by default if you follow the above advice.  I can calculate mine each day to show you.  I am sure it constantly changes as I eat whatever I happen to fancy at the moment.  Regardless, it ends in an adequate ratio.  I am also willing to show you that again, by default, I get wonderful levels of Vitamins and Minerals.

How is this backpeddling in any fashion?

I eat WHATEVER I want, no food is off limits,  gain muscle and remain ripped.

According to Mindspin, Dr. Connelly thinks that a caloric deficit is not necessary to become ripped. Therefore I want to challenge that aspect of his contention since it is the crux of his theory/argument.

I want to eat 6000 calories (of his choosing), do no cardio (since I do not do any ever and get ripped) and keep my same training schedule.

I know I will become obese.  According to Mindspin, Dr. Connelly thinks this is not what will happen.

I would ideally like to show how WRONG his hyper-caloric theory is and that the simple manipulation of Macro Ratios, yet keeping the same caloric limit will result in nothing but obesity.


I am willing to eat 6000 calories in whatever ratio Scott Connelly wants, keep my training regimen, do no cardio (since I don`t do any ever) to see what happens. Record the Results.

Then,

I will go back to my method of eating whatever I want with overall calories controlled.

I can guarantee you my method will win 10 times out of 10.

Wouldn`t a controlled experiment yield better results and something concrete?  That way we would actually have something to debate about and something to confirm.

I could show up now, armed with boxes of Studies and counterpoints to Connelly`s nonsense but I think actually performing an experiment to which we could submit is a better approach.
