Adonis is right less calories less body weight.
It really dosen't matter from where you get the calories.
I'm 43 and eat what i want but keep my cals low and always have
a six pack.

I heard a study on NPR Radio once confirming the calorie is a calorie issue for weight loss. 

But it never discussed muscle gain for bodybuilders etc etc.

I am not interested in helping sell products or promoting them in any fashion.  I am interested in putting together a controlled experiment that will produce results.  I don`t need any money, nor do I want any.  I am already working on a book, have been for over a year as a hobby in my spare time. (Historical Fiction, who knows if anyone will ever read it or if I will finish, perhaps not).

Obviously Dr. Connelly has some sort of vested interest as he wouldn`t just waste money in the hopes of a viral internet owning.  (I for one, thinks its a brilliant marketing approach and don`t blame him if this is really his idea)

However, there is no way he is correct if he thinks that overall caloric intake does not matter and that I could eat 6000 calories and become ripped.

I personally don`t think he believes this, (at least I hope not, how could he?)and that you may be misrepresenting or misunderstanding what his ideas are comprised of.

Say what you want about Adonis, but he can see the forest from the trees.

I still don`t understand what the debate is about.  What is Dr. Connelly`s position?
One can eat 6000 calories a day, not ever reaching a caloric deficit all the while becoming shredded?

I don`t buy it. While I believe he is a mountebank, I refuse to believe Connelly is that far gone.

Also, why haven`t we heard from Scott Connelly himself?  If Dr. Connelly wanted to debate,  don`t you think he would be the one contacting me?

Or at the very least he would post here.  Perhaps I will email him this thread and see what he has to say.  Perhaps some of you could do the same.  Chances are he doesn`t even know it exists.

I like how people always brag about how they eat what they want. The real issue is do you eat AS MUCH as you want. I can't eat as much as I want of cauliflower but I can always manage to forced down another slice of pan pizza. And, of course, there's always room for jello and whipped cream.

Pics of a 43 year old six pack. That would make you well above the Bell curve. Only 7% of the men over 18 have a visible six pack and that number drops exponentially with each passing decade.

As long as you meet my goals that I have laid out and as long as the calories are in the form of either being a Protein, Carbohydrate or Fat.

Obviously I don`t want you to eat your calories in Gasoline or Lightbulbs or Styrofoam Plates.

Also avoid poisonous mushrooms and poisonous flowers.  Those are BAD calories.

Don`t EVER eat a Datura.

Why can`t you stop eating?  I can order a large Pizza, eat half of it, 1400 calories, which means I have another 1400 to blow on whatever and I would have the other half of Pizza the next day or what have you.

You mean you don`t have control over yourself let alone your environment?  You don`t have to be a fucking pig you know.  You can eat by serving size instead of the whole package.  It all boils down to a mental problem.

I don`t eat "meals".  I just eat whenever I want.  Try for .5-1 gram of lb per protein.  I eat 2800 calories day in and day out.

Meet or stay close those needs, and everything else is taken care of by default.  The more variety the better in my opinion.  I love food.  

I have no idea how much protein, fat or carbs I eat nor do I care, although I do make the .5 minimum of protein per day.  Its effortless.

By default, my Macro ratios will always vary and be constantly changing which I think is a great thing for many biological reasons.

I would be willing to track my daily diets entire nutrients contents against yours any day of the week.

I find that "bodybuilder gym lore" diets are SEVERELY lacking in many areas including calcium and antioxidants.  Most of these morons won`t drink milk or even eat fruit for fucks sakes!

Fiber is also a problem I have noticed with "bodybuilder gym lore" approaches.

And I do believe that overeating is more a mental problem. People lack self-discipline, they view food differently than say and athlete, it's can be because food is also a means for people to socialize... many reasons other than to fill nutritional requirements.

TA, I agree with what you say. I differ slightly in that it does matter the food that you choose not because of caloric intake but because it makes dieting easier. If you have no problems with self-control then, yes, you are correct. But we live in a very soft and pampered culture and the very idea of self control or even personal responsibility is a thing of the past. You have to make better choices with your macro nutrients so you don't get hungry.
