I was talking about what I think would work for Keith, not what was right or wrong per se
I understand. I think with Keith that some of obstacles is simply motivation stemming perhaps from depression. After the accident he took a big fall. This caused a lot of the weight gain and health problems. Every time he tries again something always happens to sabotage his efforts. Sometimes it gets to the point where you just say "fuck it." Having outside motivation, especially if it's from your children, can give you the push that you need.
Sometimes we like to think that we are so strong that don't need others to bring out the best in us but knowing and admitting your weaknesses is a source of strength. I believe that I am pretty disciplined and can really push myself but I also admit that when I had a good coach he was able to suck out that last bit out of me. Have you ever noticed that sometimes you perform better or seem stronger when training with a partner?
With the most successful people I've never heard anyone say that they did it all by themselves. Nobody does it alone.
BTW, how's the job? I have a new boss -- a woman. Always on my ass. I find with men that as long as you do your job they pretty much just leave you alone. Not with women. Everytime I've had a woman boss it's always the same. Always checking up on you. Always telling you to do things that you already know to do. Always "popping in" to see if everything's OK. Really cuts into my GetBig time. She's a MILF though. A divorced one. And as one of my co-workers told me, "A woman like that just needs a stiff one up the rectum." And this guy is a nerdy Phd in Physics and a tactical programmer. Hah! Men are all the same.
