when you stop training...
« on: May 12, 2010, 03:08:29 PM »
how long from when you stop training does it take for the body to start losing size, strength and muscle?
Does it actually do you good to have say a 2 week layoff from any training?

Didn't mentzer say in his book that body goes to catabolia after 6 hours if it doesn't get ANY nutrition...

and after workout to get food atleast in 30 mins period or you will magicly lose all the muscle, I think it's also bullshit.

and as for the 2 week rest... think it like this, if you have a bad week in the gym that your training just doesn't go well, don't you agree that a week rest not thinking about training would've been the better option?

I think it's pretty rare for most of us to need a full blown hiatus from training.  Serious elite and college athletes might, but your average gym rat would be fine just taking a week and de-loading, decreasing poundages by 50% or something.  I've done it and blamed it on "needing a break" or "recharging the batteries", but in reality I was just being lazy.  I'm no expert though, just a gym rat, this is only my opinion.
I'm goin' in...

this could be true.. but also, pre stress before workout doesn't help either... you should feel comfortable and glad you're in the gym and excited, and not as if fearing death itself when you go squat etc  ;D

when I started training I was a supplement whore... I had to have every supplement there is  ::)

now days I don't even use supplements... maby multi vitamins and strong b and c, maby, but that's it... sometimes I eat 1 hour after training, sometimes just banana and cottage cheese or something  :D

I don't feel any differend... and creatine never helped me, I have used it like in a 100 differend ways, loading phase, not loading phase, tea spoon, big spoon, taking it while standing on my head... didn't rly work...

Creatine effervescent always works for me. Especially this brand. It used to be FSI but now its eightball nutrition or something.
