It's been a few years since i've squatted..

I got into doing higher rep leg presses etc.. and kinda got outta squatting bc of that and lower back pains...

WELL, regardless, i'm getting back to squatting, and man, my knees are hurting.  Not really during the squat, but in the days that follow the workout.

Is it that i'm now 32..  and the cartilege is deteriorating>?

Thoughts?   Also thoughts on gluco/msm?

How deep are you going on your squat? What's your stance like?

I do chon/gluc and found joint issues to fade away.

squat suck ass... wrecks my back and especially KNEES. I do heavy hack squat and leg press instead, zero problems except sore ass quads and hams, even more than when I was doing squats, so..

Right now going really light, just to get my form back.  I don't go heavier until I feel my legs are doing the lift, not my back.

My stance is a little wider than shoulder-width..   i'm 6 foot.

So the msm/glucosamine combo works well?   At what levels?

I hear ya.  Unfortunitely my gym got rid of their NICE hack squat and replaced it with some shitty hammerstrength squat contraption that blows.

I use the chon/glu combo without msm and I use 3x's the recommended dose, one dose morning, noon and night.  Joint pain went away and I don't have any negative effects.

I use this stuff http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-Glucosamine-Chondroitin

It's been awhile..

i always feel that when i squat and leg press, i am pushing with the toes and not my heels...  maybe i should squat with a plate under my toes to reposition..
