I've decided to give up on bodybuilding
« on: May 19, 2010, 05:20:26 AM »
....and instead live a spiritual and righteous life.

Bodybuilding is not spiritual or righteous. It's time I man up and do the right thing with myself instead of this unhealthy bullshit.

It's time to transform my spirit, and keep my body healthy instead of eating like a pig to gain weight and focusing my energy on m body, which is a superficial object.

I know the right path. Now I must walk on it.

Man it's going to be tough on your mind to get back to normal size after being such a massive bodybuilder for so many years.

Don't try to lose too much muscle too fast because of your skin.

.....

Honestly now - after looking at your pictures I'd say bodybuilding gave up on YOU

Hahaha, his back is destroyed by the massive weights he used to handle, his organs are all shot up because of the massive dosages he used to take. No more walking around at 174 pounds shredded for this guy.  ;D

Good post, giving up the ego is tough but all the spritual leaders teach this.

I'm not gonna stop lifting. I'm just not gonna sacrifice my health for my muscles. I'm gonna start eating for health instead of muscle. No more enormous portions of meat, no more drinking 8 eggs every day, none of that shit. Health is the righteous path.

I find myself not giving a damn about my muscles these days. The whole bodybuilding game just seems really gay and fruity to me at this point in my life.

I think the main thing is that I never wanted to be a 250 pound shredded monster. And when I see really huge guys I say "Damn, I don't wanna look like that."

When I see martial artists, rock climbers, bicyclists, yogis, those are the kind of body I want to have. Van Damme, Bruce Lee...... Just a strong, flexible, healthy and natural body that's easy to maintain. At a natural balance. It doesn't need to be forced with heavy training and force feeding.

No offense dude, but judging by your look you have to gain AT LEAST 20 pounds of muscle before you look anything close to that.

You havn't even posted a pic so shut the fuck up.

I am 5'7 and 167 pounds. I have more than enough muscle mass to pull off a Bruce Lee look. For a Van Damme looks i'd have to bulk some more.

You seem like a fagg. With your name MONSTER TRICEPS and your gay/macho avatar. You are another fagggot in the bodybuilding world. Keep on sucking those cocks.

There are a few things that made me make this decision.

First, I went on a few introspective psychedelic trips about a month ago and they really tore my ego apart. I was in pieces for weeks afterwards. Anyone who has every been on a hardcore psychedelic trip can probably relate. It's like your personality gets destroyed.

In the past week i've kind of been grounding myself again from it. And I just can't really fit this bodybuilding shit into my new vision of life. It just seems so gay, narcisistic and superficial. Most of the dudes in it are fucking baffoons, chasing materialistic dreams. You sacrifice your health and your spiritual integrity for muscles basically.

Also i've been going to the Buddhist temple and learning about the path of Buddha. It's making me see a whole new horizon. I knew all about Buddhism and different spiritual paths for a long long time. But now i'm seeing it with new eyes.

Being totally serious here. Most f you all probably can't relate to this at all i'm sure, but I don't give a fuck.

I can totally relate, been through some of this as well seems you are torn between the two. I think you have to detach and separate the two Buddhism teaches let go of the ego but at the same time you want to fit in the world and have things it is a real challenge. If you can look at like taking care of the body as one and spritual as another maybe thats a answer.

That whole peace thing is one aspect of Buddhism I don't ive with too well. I'm working on it though.

Before Buddhism I was really interested in Native American spirituality. And non-violence isn't really as big in that as Buddhism.

I don't follow and teachings fully. I just groove on my own.
