Not boxing, according to guys like "showstoppa" its a pussy sport where you hit each other with pillows, yet he wont go to a boxing club and tell them that!

Assuming that you don't always meet the mike tysons, fedors and chuck norrises in the streets, Boxing should be enough. And i don't mean being a "weekend warrior", i mean training seriously 4 times a week.

Judo,

Widely taught,

Realistic in using clothing/jacket to aid in throws.

BJJ is better for shirtless fights where you don't have clothing to grab - MMA competition

teach him how to use a gun usually stops any disagreement.

BJJ traditionally is taught with a gi but many do train shirtless these days...

like I said look at that pic and imagine thats concrete or even grass for that matter the average person isnt getting up after that...more than likely a person who doesnt know how to fall is going to break something an arm, collar bone, ankle....I would still recommend some type of striking tothough to help him close the gap without getting his head knocked off

1. tyson n kimbo have already showed you how boxing skills match up against the avg street thug.

2.  already said.  jj masters are hard as nails, come from crashing poverty.  90% of street fights end up on ground.  you do the math.

3. wrestling - u guys been watching the ####in wwe too much.

the other stuff is mostly defensive.

i have an idea that the guys that start these thread have never been in a fight...just take the book sack off and throw hands with a b###h.  i wonder?

lets not even get to hand combat with wild animals again.  ::)

general street fights end up grappling and often on the ground b/c ppl dont know how to deal with someone standing that is clinched with them. If you know how to throw someone chances are its not going to get far enough to go to the ground unless you want it to.

the wrestling that myself and I believe others are referring to is olympic style wrestling not the wwe or whatever it is...you know on the ground...

again...i'm talking about kurt angle...as far as the wwe.  i've said i have no clue how his REAL skills convert in a street fight.

boxing - kimbo was trained in a gym.  look at his stance, tucked chin  and punch delivery in those vids.  he got exposed cause gannon a cop was trained in combat, the only guy he fought in miami with REAL training.  easy 2-3k per fight for him.

bjj - primary goal is to cut of blood circulation esp to the brain and THEY KNOW HOW TO FINISH.  i'll pass.

again...fun stuff....but i dont think some of these guys have every come home with a black eye, are just momma's boys.

imo boxing.

i have never met a boxer that doesn't oze confidence.

Also punching is a lifetime skill that once learned will stay with you.

sure they are good at throwing on ground etc.. problem is they are not good at finishing the fight like a bjj guy with choke, armbar etc..

Matarazzo was a boxer, but he couldn't beat a bypass...

are u sure that wasnt flex with his ninja skills.  based on ultimate warrior...only a spartan can defeat a ninja.  flex is good to go.
