Sexual segregation is still a legal and permissible thing.  It is NOT the same as racial discrimination in the eyes of the law or the constitution.

Really?  Doesn't Title VII cover race and gender?

In this country yes, according to the courts, yes.  There are situations where discrimination against a sex is permissible.  i.e. woman's only gyms or as beach brought up Augusta national golf club.  This has been hashed out in courts of law 333 where have you been?

hahaha don't make me laugh.  You just brought up Augusta as an example, they aren't legally required to allow females to join.  You answered your own question with your previous post.  Have they been forced to allow men?  Are woman's only gyms forced to allow men?  Give me a break.  Are men legally allowed in female change rooms?  I mean that's discrimination right there.  Idiot.  Seriously.  Please think about this issue before you post.

what points?  You can't discriminate based on race.  The founding fathers were against it, the supreme court of this country is against it, you can not do it.  Morally or legally.   8)

I see.  So how do you explain Bob Jones University, which discriminated on the basis of race?

kc your going back and forth making a point in one instance that goes against the point you made in another post...

if you cant discriminate on the basis or race or sex...why can clubs be men only but clubs cant be white only?

Some info on Bob Jones University.

Bob Jones University v. United States (1983)

Rodeheaver AuditoriumOn January 19, 1976, the Internal Revenue Service notified the University that its tax exemption had been revoked retroactively to December 1, 1970. The school appealed the IRS decision all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, arguing that the University met all other criteria for tax-exempt status and that the school's racial discrimination was based on sincerely held religious beliefs, that "God intended segregation of the races and that the Scriptures forbid interracial marriage." [95] The University was not challenged about the origin of its interracial dating policy, and the District Court accepted "on the basis of a full evidentiary record" BJU's argument that the rule was a sincerely held religious conviction, a finding affirmed by all subsequent courts.[96] In December 1978, the federal district court ruled in the University's favor; two years later, that decision was overturned by the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

On January 8, 1982, just before the case was to be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court, President Ronald Reagan authorized his Treasury and Justice Departments to ask that the BJU case be dropped and that the previous court decisions be vacated. Political pressure quickly brought the Reagan administration to reverse itself and to ask the Court to reinstate the case. Then, in a virtually unprecedented move, the Court invited William T. Coleman, Jr. to argue the government's position in an amicus curiae brief, thus ensuring that the prosecution's position would be the one the Court wished to hear.[97] The case was heard on October 12, 1982, and on May 24, 1983, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against Bob Jones University in Bob Jones University v. United States (461 U.S. 574). The University refused to reverse its interracial dating policy and (with difficulty) paid a million dollars in back taxes. Also, in the year following the Court decision, contributions to the University declined by 13 percent.[98]

[edit] Dropping the no-interracial-dating rule (2000)
In 2000, following a media uproar prompted by the visit of presidential candidate George W. Bush to the University, Bob Jones III abruptly dropped the interracial dating rule, announcing the change on CNN's "Larry King Live."[99] Five years later when asked for his view of the rule change, the current president, Stephen Jones, replied, "I've never been more proud of my dad than the night he...lifted that policy."[100]

Here is what I dont understand. Her argument is that the government should step in if a private buisiness discriminates.I wonder if she feels the congressional black caukus should allow whites in there if a white wanted in.I wonder if she thinks a black run buisiness should be allowed to discriminate against whites.

Like Paul said, its tricky issue.Because on the one hand Im 100% for a private buisinss doing what it wants. However if that buisiness decides to discriminate, would the government then be allowed to say no police could be called to that buisiness or firefighters etc.since it wants to put in rules that violate federal law?

If they were totally private it would seem fine to allow them to do what they want. But because we use public streets to get their buisiness, use public police if there is trouble,is a private buisiness ever really private?

But then you get into a discussion then can you even say "I dont want blacks in my house" or does government trump that as well.

Paul is a thinker,Maddow is an emotional moron who only sees racism behinf every issue.Paul thinks there should be a discussion but Maddow is an idiot who cant think or have discussions.

I don't really see why that's an issue?  They're paying taxes like anyone else.

Go Rand Go!!!!!!

Rand is a great man, he doesn't seem to put (some) people off the way that his dad did.

I'd feel really great if I got the opportunity to vote for him for President.
