Bassists are nothing but shitty guitarists. Easily replaceable.

Go down to the local bar or crackhouse, put a bass in some random dude's hands, you've got your replacement.

Spoken like a true non-musician.

You couldn't find a groove if it ran up the middle of your own ass.

As a matter of fact I used to be a bassist in a heavy metal metal band about 10 years ago.

It's a very easy instrument. It takes some skill but it's definitely one of the easiest instruments of all to learn.

Hey youngblood.......how long have you been an expert in every fuckin profession known to man?  Do you hold a bachelor degree or doctorate degree?  Did president Obama invite you to the whitehouse and consult with you on how to stop the massive oil spill down in the delta?  Do you always wear a pink thong when you go out with your boyfriend, since you know so much about grooves running up the middle of your ass?

despite of me not liking Slipknot for many reasons they are in fact a very very good band, very cleverly build up and marketed as well.
its just that for people like me anything the general public listens too is getting automatically boring for me.

I don''t think Steve Harris would be easy to replace for Iron Maiden,  Metallica has sucked since Cliff Burton died.

The bass line of a tune is it's backbone. This coming from a musical moron who can't sing or play any musical intsrument to save his life, tambourine included.

Awww, I have a fan in cswol. Are you going to send me another hateful PM? :D

I'm not an expert in every profession, nor have I ever claimed to be. Nor am I even a bass player. Everyone is jumping to conclusions here, typical Getbiggers.

It's cause what you said is bullshit.

Playing bass is very easy. You can take bass playing to higher levels and learn complex scales and styles. But playing typical rock music bass lines is very, very easy.

I played bass in a shitty heavy metal band for a whole year and I used to jam with people a lot. Back then I used to say "bass is the backbone of the band" and other bullshit like that. But the truth is, it's the easiest fucking instrument our there.

It's what you make of it. I would not call what Les Claypool does in Primus easy, or even what Geddy Lee, Steve Harris, and Flea does.

That's because they play advanced styles and take it to the next level. You are talking about the best bassists on Earth now. Of course there are some really skilled bassists out there who go for it and play advanced stuff.

The typical rock bassist just plays 3-5 note basslines though. When I was playing bass I learned tons of songs and 90% of them are very, very easy.
