I think a lot of insecure folks are intimindated by MMA fighters. They realize that it's bodybuilding that's being exposed and fighters know that being big and muscular by itself means very little in a fight. Walking around with your arms out and chest puffed up just illicits laughter and ridicule nowadays.

I was a fan of Pride but come on. They could have 10 - 15 min rounds with one guy laying on top of another with no ref breakup.

you're right, dipending on the sittuation though, kinda overexaggarated statement, though... and I'm aware that UFC champs has beaten pride fighters, but the atmosphere and action was more interesting... it's like ufc is all about bad boxing/good wrestling

I love boxing and MMA, but you have to understand that you can't give the two a direct comparison. They're way different. And YES, boxers are a trillion times better at BOXING than mixed martial artists... I'd sure hope so too, because you can't expect to take someone down and try subbing them in a boxing match.

This is the most retarded subject on Earth. I can't believe you fags still argue about this shit. MMA will only get bigger and bigger. Boxing has more money but far less attention. I still follow it loosely but wake up already.

I think I know where this is going. The MMA pay scale is fucked up and the sport has it's problems, plus it has a much larger ratios of fucking ass bags that follow it too. But I like it still. You don't have to follow the trends. Just ignore the Tapout/TUF homos and it's all good.

I like watching a lot of the Japanese stuff and K1 as well.

Japan are far more educated in martial and ground fighting. All you see is two guys lying around. Not in Japan and not with people familiar with the ground game.

Exactly. They appreciate a good chess match on the ground. Jiu Jitsu did originate in Japan after all. And if shit gets boring, their refs stand it up fast. If they don't push the bill, they get dinged for it and lose a percentage of their fight purse.

Boring ground matches? They don't exist in Japan. In the United States and in other countries, you can dry hump your opponent for the duration of the fight and exploit the 10 point must system. Lay and pray artists don't stand a chance. It's too bad that MMA isn't as big as it once was there. I'm loving Dream and some of the mainstream organizations there. They've been putting on excellent events.

On that note, Dynamite!! 2009 by FEG was one of the best MMA events I had ever seen in my life. Watched it from start to finish on HDNet and virtually every match was awesome

I watched UFC back in the day when it was underground and they had HW atheletes who would fight stand-up. Boxing is king on my book and I would love to see the next Tyson arise. I hope the fad of MMA dies soon
