As for your comment on 2012, I have to say, I am not hopeful TBH.  I post at FR too and if some of those goofballs are any indication of anything, we are really screwed. 

They are still screaming over abortion, gay marriage, and other idiotic issues! 

I am in a few flame wars over there and getting screamed at for saying the social cons need to STFU and we need to deal with the economy first and fopremost.

We spent the entire summer before 9/11 screaming about stem cells.  Really?  I mean, could ONE HOUR of Bush's stem cell battle have gone to reading that little memo about Atta and friends plot?

I asked one guy seriously if he was prepared to charge every woman who had an abortion with premeditated murder, give her 20 to life, have abortion police, abortion courts, abortion judges, abortion agencies, charge the doctors' staff with aiding and abetting murder, etc, and the guy said absolutely. 

Another fool told me that we has no problem allowing the economy to completely collapse before he would vote for a pro choice GOP candidate.

They trash Schiff a traitor since he advises clients to invest overseas and wants to end the wars.

yeah, the problem is that the extreme voices are the ones that control every primary.

Far-left voices elected Obama.
Far-right voices elected the (newly conservative flavor of) Mccain.

It'll be the same in 2012, most likely.  They'll choose someone on the extreme like Palin (even though she's chomping down the same socialist shit stew on the bailout, amnesty, capping emissions) as Obama. 

They'll ignore a common sense voice like Ron Paul once again.  Just as the Dems will ignore a common sense voice like Evan Buyh in 2016.

I asked one poster how his claiming Chris Christie was a RINO prior to his election is any indication of his other views. 

The guy flipped out on me.  The social cons are really out of control.
