"Obama Labor Chief: Illegals Have a Right to Fair Wages"

The link in this post is just this video with comments from FoxNation's readers. The video is of the Labor Sec'y saying that illegal aliens have a right to fair wages. On the video, she does not say they have the right to work in the first place; she only says that if they're working, they have the right not to be ripped off.

If you oppose illegal immigration, supporting what's on the video is a good idea. Opposing what's on the video incentivizes illegal immigration. If that's not clear, see this.

There are much better ways to oppose Hilda Solis and the administration.

Palin admitted during the 2008 campaign that she supports amnesty (which she euphemistically calls “a path to citizenship”). Proof:

Going back to action and not words (and don't get me wrong, i think palin is AWESOME for GOP fundraising, which I think needs to improve greatly, but for this arguement, she would have definitely supported this garbage amnesty bill if mccain had won)

But as Governor, she allowed sanctuary cities. Bold governors like Brewer have found a way to shut them down, big time.

Lou Dobbs notes that at least two of Alaska’s cities have been officially designated as sanctuary cities: “An August 14, 2006 report produced by the Congressional Research Service listed 31 cities and counties that have ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ sanctuary policies in place. They [include] Anchorage, Alaska [and] Fairbanks, Alaska. Alaska and Oregon both have state-wide policies that forbid state agencies from using resources to enforce federal immigration law.”

It was a response to a poster who implied this is a liberal position. It's a legitimate point. Neither party (the leaders, on the whole) is particularly interested in actually securing the borders and getting rid of illegals. For one thing, it would wreak economic havoc with the country. And I don't just mean cheap labor. By some estimates, the amount of money illegals pay into the tax system is keeping the Social Security program afloat. But, ultimately, a war on illegal immigrants who are already in this country would be like the war on drugs- a lot of wasted effort and money with a dubious pay off.

Al. I agree. Both parties have a vested interest as a whole in illegal imm. The dem's see a voter pool. The Repubs see it as cheap labor for their biz buddies. So the circle goes around. The bottom line is we are paying for this and it's soo time to make changes on Nov. I think that at least 60 to 70% of the incubents will be sorely surprised at the results and fine Nov Wednesday morn....

One thing I don't agree is the SS pay. How does an illegal PAY into a system when they aren't taxed and are paid off the books?? The truly only thing that biz benefits is the cheap labor. We are paying for the free healthcare they receive, the schooling for their kids, and the crime.

No, it wasn't in response to a poster who implied this is a liberal issue. 240 has been doing this for months now, everytime anyone mentions something that the Obama administration has done he goes and says, "So, Palin would have done it." I like the guy but he derails threads with that shit. Cut the crap 240, it isn't about who so and so would have done, it's what the current admin IS DOING.
