Hey, if there's one thing I know about the English language, it's that there really are no rules. Having said that, if you wanna run your sentence and mine by an(y) editor, I know which one he will send to copy.

Well, the General's a smart guy. I mean, you don't get to that level without BIG school, staff college, and  combat experience. But, like a lot of super smart guys, he farked up. Nothing is off-record. Nothing. He tendered his resignation today. I'll bet he says nothing further about it. Remember, he was the guy that advised the Bush admin. to not reveal how Pat Tillman really died. He knows all about politics.

As for Obama, it'll be a pain, but he can get another Afghan guy. But, it does throw a real wrench in the works. On the plus side, I'm guessing the Fox News people have already offered the General an advisory on-air role.
