I also notice it is not being pointed out that McChrystal voted for Obama but said he was unprepared and seemed intimidated. That looks really bad as well. You're right McChrystal was also liked by the Afghans as well as knowing what was going on. I just thinks this make the PResident look as if he is losing control.
All of those high expectations are falling rather quickly.
Well, the General's a smart guy. I mean, you don't get to that level without BIG school, staff college, and combat experience. But, like a lot of super smart guys, he farked up. Nothing is off-record. Nothing. He tendered his resignation today. I'll bet he says nothing further about it. Remember, he was the guy that advised the Bush admin. to not reveal how Pat Tillman really died. He knows all about politics.
As for Obama, it'll be a pain, but he can get another Afghan guy. But, it does throw a real wrench in the works. On the plus side, I'm guessing the Fox News people have already offered the General an advisory on-air role.
