I have seriously turned this piece of shit Apple Ipod on about 4 or 5 times. It was an unwanted gift and never saw the need to even remove it from its box. It still even remains in the plastic wrapper it came in. I was just curious to see if I could put some Audio Books on there and the garbage won`t even come on.
Any suggestions besides toggling the Hold Button and holding the middle and Menu buttons down? Apple really makes garbage products if this thing won`t even turn on. Considering I even have an antique Victrola over 115 years old that sounds as new as the day the wood was first polished.
Apple Fail.
This is paradox of rechargeable batteries. Each one has a predetermined charge cycle. That is to say, it can be used, drained, and recharged a set number of times (say 1000 times). After that, the battery will no longer effectively hold a charge.
But if you use, drain, and recharge the battery only a handful of times and then set it aside for say, one year, and then try to recharge it again you’ll find that it no longer works—at all. Rechargeable batteries are meant to be used in the short term--they are not intended to sit on a shelf for months or years without being used. That’s what you did with your iPod battery and that is why it no longer works. Your iPod is fine, but the rechargeable battery is dead. If you want to use it, replace the rechargeable battery and then use the product consistently, charging and discharging the battery at very regular intervals. If you are not going to use it for a while leave it connected to a power source so it is always charged.
Leaving a battery on the shelf for months (after it has been charged) will prematurely kill the battery's life cycle.
