squats are known to be better for legs than leg presses, although basically it's the same movement except presses are easier
shakes are too easy and convienient, instead dry oatmeal and unflavored chicken breast will make you bigger
actually some supps are just as good, but just think if you told a beginner that. then he would never eat food, just loads of vpx and muscletech crap. and personally my body will get tired of the same protein shakes week after week, and my body just quits responding, food never fails or contains proprietary blends
