what uses more gas?? shoulder and bi workouts?? or full body workout back, hamstrings, quads, triceps biceps, shoulders, chest?? that pretty much is the difference between mma and boxing... thats why mma is scheduled 3-5 rounds, rather then boxings 12 rounds....more energy used in mma....

Also, staying on your toes and moving for 12 x 3 rds requires a bit more than "shoulders and bis".

I was always told vast majority of the power comes from the legs/hips. After a hard training session I used to feel as If I'd been run over by a truck the next day - virtually every muscle in my body would ache.

If anyone still thinks that a well trained MMA fighter would get destroyed by a street fighter, just watch some of Kimbo's fights in the UFC.  This "streetfighter" was supposed to come in and run through all of the top MMA fighters.  Unfortunately he was KOd by Seth Petruzeli.  After that, he realized that just getting in there and "throwing hands" wasn't going to cut it.  So he went to train MMA at one of the top camps.  Unfortunately is was not enough and he was cut by the UFC...

What really throws a wrench in all your "best fighters are in the UFC" rants and Kimbo is the perfect example is that you do not have to be the good to be in the UFC. In fact you don't have to have any experience at all.   And don't forget no rules on the streets advantage goes to a real good streetfighter who will do what it takes to win.

In MMA you can hug and rest, in boxing you are instantly separated in a clinch by the refferee. It takes more stamina in boxing

the only people who thought kimbo was going to run through all the top mma fighters are the same people who think brock lesnar truly is the #1 HW in the world.

Yep.  And so would a good boxer.  The truth is, even the best street fighters have no real chance against a trained fighter.

Obviously I don't "know" this, but in my opinion, a 280 lbs Division 1 wrestler with all of the athletic prowess that Brock has is going to be difficult for anyone to put on his back.  Carwin had the best chance because he matched Brock in size, he had the wrestling and sick power.

I do agree though, if Fedor had gotten on top of Lesnar, he would have probably found a way to finish the fight.
