Flex, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that posing routine you object to so avidly is Andy's participation in an NPC event as a Guest Poser where the audience generally enjoys antics more so than in the typical contest.

I have witnessed Guest Posing routines which you would really despise and more than likely start throwing eggs like we did way back when, but nowadays that would be a big discourtesy so it's almost rarely done.

How would you feel about a top bodybuilding 'star' guest posing in full sweat, workout gear and a full face mask?  I've seen that more than once and was surprised that no one in that audience stated a word of objection.

But on the internet we all tend to be different critters and boldly post our objections even if they are invalid.

Andy is ANdy and he strives to go where no bodybuilder has gone before. We might not like it but it is different.

Andy Haman!  LOL The guy is a fucking toolshed.  He's so full of shit.  He posted a video of him benching pressing on here before.  I think it was like 500lbs.  Everyone was calling him out.  It was bullshit.  In fact I know the exact guy that actually designed the fake plates Andy used in that youtube video.  I used to live in Colorado Springs.  Rumor is he won the lottery a few years back and that's where he got all his money.  Andy is one of the biggest liars in the industry.  He's on so much GH he should buy stock in fucking Pfizer.

the only good thing to say about this "posing routine" was that it was a guest posing gig. if this was his "real" routine competing? he should and would be banned and laughed off the stage.

not sure though how even with this weirded out guest posing routine if he thinks this is either entertaining or funny or both?

IT"S NOT! i mean i think the audience is 100 percent adults right?

That 'figure chick' looks like it could be his wife.  Andy is married with 4 kids.

This is an '80 routine - at least Andy mixes it up.  Some people love his crazy look and style.

Yes, the routine was a little cheesy, but the question, was it entertaining to the crowd or not?

Andy is representing the epitomy of that type of BB entertainment.  A lot of people in this thread seem to want 15 out of 15 competitors doing classical poses to classical music.  This has never made money and has never even happened.  Everyone has always had their style, if they do it well then it's worth watching and it makes money.  If I go to a show what I really want to see is people on their A-games, representing themselves that way-in almost whatever way that may manifest itself.

It is DEFINITELY NOT routines like this that keep BB in the closet.  What keeps BB in the closet(amongst crime, drug usage, a high mortality rate in a sport that involves no physical contact) is people not performing well: ie: people going to a show and doing the opposite of Andy, coming kind of in shape and choosing whatever music and posing however.

I like people representing their best in a way that isn't offensive to me.  Simle equation.  Andy is being his best and representing BB in a way that dates back to the 50s when it really was a crazy show.  Being his best is way better and more popular than someone staying in a frame and being sub-par or just like everyone else.

Just yanking your chain....as long as they don't pose to R&B music, I really don't care.

But NO WOMEN would want a fat midget with an 80's hair do to strip for them.  Also no Gays would want to see this ugly fat little man.
What a complete and utter loser this guy is... :(

x2.  Bodybuilding was a joke and a schmoefest long before Andy, Kai, and others came along and it will continue to be long after they are gone.  The illegal drug use, decreasing thong size, G4P, and . . .  ::)

WRONG!!!!!!!!  Physical culture i.e. strength training, bodybuilding, health and fitness, muscle beach, etc. were all very mainstream back in the day.  Trying to say that physical culture in the time of Draper, Grimek, and Bob Hoffman was a joke a schmoefest just reaffirms your own personal justifications as a homosexual bodybuilding fan/participant.  Homosexuality in bodybuilding was far from mainstream back in the day.  I guess all those young kids buying the Charles Atlas pamphlets were all out to be gay?  LMAO!  Homosexuality, drugs, etc. were all present back then.........but it was hardly the majority like it is nowadays.

You would NEVER have seen an idiot like Andy Haman go anywhere in bodybuilding back then acting so stupid and childish.  He would have got his pansy ass kicked off the stage.  Constrast an amazing poser like of Arnold's era with the shit Andy pulled in that video and if you still don't think bodybuilding is completely alien to what it used to be.............well maybe you should come up for air big guy!

Don't know where you're getting this.  A lot the big names from back in the day talked openly about the sexuality and g4p type activity.  Draper is a good guy now, but he's been very open about his problems with severe addiction in the past.  Essentially all of the guys were using drugs by the 70s and where there are drugs, there is crime.  Maybe in the 50s it was more wholesome, probably, but that was but a brief blip in history, as the 60s came around everything changed.

Nonetheless, BB on stage prior to the 70s was more like Haman's routine than it is today-people came on stage with weights, trumpets, women...etc, did tricks whatever.  It was a circus show.  Andy is in shape and putting on his best show and is actually mirroring the BB of the 60s and 70s in and around Venice and SAMO.   A guy with a wife and 3 kids, who comes in in shape and puts on a wild and wacky show with lots of entertainment is like the last person in BBing putting shame to it.
