Sorry Kyomu (Hiroshima bombing 65th anniversary )
« on: August 06, 2010, 09:46:26 AM »
and all my Japanese friends :( :'(

Hiroshima 65 years later: US attends ceremony, but offers no apology

Tokyo
Sixty-five years after the United States dropped "Little Boy" on Hiroshima, effectively ending World War II and ushering in an era of nuclear dread, the United States sent its first delegation to the annual ceremony to remember the over 100,000 Japanese who lost their lives in the bombing.
While some Japanese hailed the presence of the US and other nuclear powers as a sign of commitment to eventual nuclear disarmament, for others it was too little, too late. Some Japanese still want an apology for the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, while others complained about the absence of President Obama.

The only apology we should do is "sorry we didn't drop 100 bombs like the one in Hiroshima so we could own that country too.

Good Post Hereford...those fuckin nips raped and brutally tortured civilians, POWs and anybody that got in their way.  Worst of all, the Japanese still havent formally apologized for their actions during WWII.  Every time there is a new textbook about Japanese WWII involvement, its always heavily edited and censored in Japan.  The rape of Nanking, one of the most brutal and disgustingly savage acts in history, is referred to as the "Naking incident' in Japan, barely talked about and some Japs outright deny it even happened!  Apologize to these fucking idiots??!! NO FUCKING WAY!! Check the link below and then tell me that these people deserve an apology....

the US incinerated alive probably a million japanese civilians, including dropping TWO NUCLEAR BOMBS on japanese cities despite Japan having no military capacity anymore.

its ironic how we have been trying to get the japs to 'apologise' for years yet will not apologise ourselves. lol its just like 2 stubborn kids.

the japanese were literally beaten back to their home island.

before dropping the first bomb, we gave them the chance to surrender..they declined

after that first bomb, we again gave them the chance to surreneder...they still declined

after the second bomb they still had soldiers hiding out in the jungle for years refusing to surrender

in a way kinda badass, in another way very stupid. what we sopposed to do? we had the means to defeat them without committing soldiers to another huge invasion, one that would have dwarfed d-day.

why should we apologize? does anyone believe they would have apologized if they had succeeded in their plans to own half the world (along with the germans) and just given back what they conquered?

at the time the bombs were dropped Japan's offensive military capacity was gone completely. their navy was in ruins, they didnt have enough pilots to fly the planes they had left, they had been beaten out of every foreign country they had invaded...they were basically holed up on their own home islands in a state of ruin.

whether or not they issued an 'official surrender' was irrelevent...they were completely beaten and no longer had the capacity to attack anyone at that point.

the whole 'it was only to avoid an invasion' excuse was bullshit, there would have been no point in invading japan, they were already beaten and in ruins. we went ahead and dropped the bombs anyway (on cities full of civilians no less), probably just as a show of cock size to the russians.

John, are seriously this stupid or are you just trolling.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Downfall

Educate yourself. Funny how a nation that had 'no military capacity' would be capable of inflicting an estimated million US casualties, eh?

The Japanese sadist approach to things dwarf anything the Germans or Russians ever did.

you guys are right. it was really just america spoiling for a fight that brought us into ww2, both in the pacific and europe.

if we had just let the nazis have the 'living space' the great german people required, none of it would ever have happened. we never should have helped the british with weapons the way we did - stuck our noses where it didnt belong.

never should have gotten in the way of the japanese trying to expand across eastern asia and the pacific..i mean how dare we have a naval base on some islands they may have been interested in?  how dare we respond to there attack on us? we had it coming...we always do.

the great heroic japanese and germans should be honored at all times...and we cowardly americans should live in eternal shame

i have seen the light

of course if you invade the homeland there would be huge casualties...but you are missing the point completely. japan had no OFFENSIVE military capacity...meaning they were no longer a threat to anyone in the world. and if after several months they began to try to build up armaments again (extremely unlikely considering their state), we (who had them under total observation) would simply easily just blow up the factory from the air or sea..in other words they were back in their own country, beaten to a pulp, and at gunpoint.

tell me, what would be the point of invading an opponent that had already been defeated?

You didn't say "japan had no OFFENSIVE military capacity"

you said "the US incinerated alive probably a million japanese civilians, including dropping TWO NUCLEAR BOMBS on japanese cities despite Japan having no military capacity anymore."

I can't believe there are people who think Japan deserved anything less than complete cultural annihilation for what they were doing in the 30's and 40's.

Is this what the liberal education policies get us?

You sound like a hippie apologetic liberal. Why do you hate America?

The fact is that those nukes put a swift end to the war. It SAVED, yes SAVED hundreds of thousands of American lives as well as Japanese...and other allied countries by not having to set foot on their mainland and fight for god knows how long.

There is nothing to apologize for.

landing on japanese soil would have made d-day look like cowboy and indians.  and north america has a rich history of horrible endings fighting on asia soil. before all this arab nonsense...japanese were the original suiciders.
