I believe that Steve Reeves had malaria, while in the army, in the South Pacific. Some say it's a white man disease but that is incorrect. I was born in Polynesia and been to Fiji to Hawai (and most points in between) and malaria is an equal opportunity killer everywhere.

Heard from a couple of older men who had got it (chills/sweating/shaking) in Panama. Their only option was pills (VA hospital supply) and rest.  So I guess you would have to wait it out like them, too bad. But that should not do damage to your training, in the long run.  Good Luck.

Thanks to benchmstr, excellent story about Audie Murphy. Not that familar with his story. Been by his old ranch land in Menifee a few times. Honor, service and sacrifice, above the call of duty.

Your correct, everyone should know his whole story. I knew he was a war hero in WW2, but that was about it. I grew up around Oceanside so all I heard about were jarheads. And Navy guy's in SD. As far as Audie Murphy goes, size really doesn't matter as long as you have courage in you heart. That make you 10 feet tall.

tbombz, I also recommend bread and wine with that cheese.

Come to think of it, I haven't heard the term "Cheesy" used since grade school. Guess that's what all the cool guy's say in Manteca now days.

"Murphy's best friend was killed by a German soldier in a machine gun nest who was feigning surrender.  Murphy went into a rage, and single-handedly wiped out the German machine gun crew which had just killed his friend.  He then used the German machine gun and grenades to destroy several other nearby enemy positions." 8)
