I try to keep my muscles under tension for a minute holding peak contraction for 2 seconds per rep and going for sets of 10-20 reps on everything. Low reps with tons of momentum do nothing for my body. I loss my appetite, and size. Everything goes flat. Serge maybe have used light weights, but his workouts were brutal. 10 sets of 20 rep bench presses aren't easy. You really have to go through the pain barrier.
Doing a set of barbell curls with 95lbs peak contraction, slowly for 15 (lasting over a minute) is a hell of a lot harder then swinging 125 for 8 reps for example (lasting 20 seconds). Have some muscular endurance, it helps you a lot more in the real world.
