Well im sure a hotel in a big city will be 150-200 a night. Npc card next year will be 90 and to enter a national level show (jr) it is 150 and for a national its 300. A plane flight would probably be 300 depending on where i fly. A ball park figure.... close to a grand

The kid (with his trainer Noel) just won 1st in an NPC state meet. That is real, actual bodybuilder , trainer and the contest pics to prove it.

I applaud Leafy on his hard work and strict adherence to the diet his trainer developed for him. I don't know nor care about any drugs he may/may NOT have used.

Noel is a real trainer with a posted record of actual clients that come in ripped.
He posts their pics and gives basic info of what he does.

The reason i say this is because longevity is not something that bodybuilders have. Just take a look at the list of competitors from any national level show from say five or six years ago. Id bet that 90% of those guys dont compete anymore.

Just do what you're doing now, put on quality size slowly and keep your supplements as little as possible until you get to that national level.

however can you perhaps give us a run down of your workout philosophy ? hit? volume? frequency sets reps etc ?

also you state you didn't do any cardio for this comp, but how did you feel physically when you reached such low bodyfat levels ? were you out of breath by just walking ? or did you feel like a superman? never out of breath and could easily run/jogged etc for at least 30 mins without turning purple.

Air fare from Arkansas (Regardless of the airport)

Low ... $289
High -- $504

NPC Entry Fee - $100 (?)

LV hotel room - $400 or a bit LESS would cover a week's stay in the Emerald Suites across from the Orleans Hotel/Casino. One bedroom with kitchen.

LV car rental - Approx $160 for the week.

Food and beverage - $250 would more than likely pay for three meals a day at a number of great buffets. Most LV hotel/casinos now offer an ALL DAY all you can eat buffet option for approximately $30 - $35 dollars.

HIGH BASIC Expense  would be approximately ...... $1,400
The LOW would be approximately ....  $1,200

These figures do not include numerous incidentals such as booze (Leaf don't drink) and broads (hotel room lap dancers) and gambling looses.

I'm still in for a hundred whatever Leaf chooses to enter even if there are no other donations.

Leafy...Great job !  You have made huge improvements in actually a short amount of time and by all of the posts on here most will agree with me. Best advice I can give would be to take your time and put on QUALITY size without losing the symmetry you now have. You are young and have a ton of time to do this without trying to play the size game too soon. Take a look at pics from past USA/National shows and see where you think you need to be size wise for your height. One thing I have always seen and heard from national show competitors is that EVERYONE comes in looking good. There are always the standouts, but usually places 6-15 are a coin toss and it can be a bit overwhelming.

No, Che. Thanks for asking. Been working with athletes for most of life since high school days.

Trained a few people you all talk about on this Board and had the opportunity to work with the likes of Tommy Kono, Timmy Leong, Harold Sakada, Bill Star, Reeves and a decent number of pro  ball players plus many more well known sports figures

I've been around the power lifting, olympic lifting, bodybuilding, football scene for more years than you've been alive and have participated in a good number of fund raising events to support athletic teams and individuals to participate in national and international events.

We also encouraged athletes and their sponsors to help us support charitable organizations such as the MDA and Shriners' hospitals just to name a couple.

We also organized federal prison strength competitions that were very successful.

Did enough of the above to receive a State Awards/Commendations on two separate occasions.

On more than a few occasions, Keith has been there to lend a hand and has always volunteered his time and expertise.

And as far as helping Leaf to get to a national contest, we've done that more times than I can recall.

You can call it "creepy",  but I look at my spare time as .... helping others who need help to be successful in their endeavors or to simply live a few more years of their lives.

When I'm in a position to offer help to someone who deserves it, I jump in with both feets runn'en.

Was raised that way and that's the way I'll always be.
