There are various exercises you can do to firm/tone that area, but if yours is a problem of "fat hanging around there," then further dieting is probably in order.
Hence, aerobic exercises and calorie reduction may help you acheive your goal rather than building more muscle.

Just db front squats really and occasionally overhead bb.

i cycle a lot, about 14 miles every other day which has toned everything up to a high degree apart from this irritating region!  :)

I was actually thinking of asking this question that the original poster has - is the best way to get inner thighs to do squats with feet far apart and toes pointed outwards? Or are there better ways?

i don't know if its genetics or my feet position...but the inside part of my legs have always been really thick....i just place my feet instinctively....next time i do legs i will see what my feet do and report back..

Mentioned this many times before, but try having a 2X4 or a pair of 45's under the heels when squating.  Less stretch and the qrads are hit strongly. Front squats work very well this way. Any form of squating, with heels raised, give better balance to a lot of guy's. Olympic lifters have raised heels on their lifting shoe/boots, balance being one of the reasons.

Guy's into serious sports are better served by doing regular flatfooted squats because of the better flex/stretch to thefoot/heel/ankles. Good Luck.
