Correct, my chingaroney friend. But putting chocolate into chili does not a mole sauce make (pronounced moe-lay). It's a blend of a heap of different shit, as involved as making a Thai chili paste which is why it's mostly jarred or canned. Can't say I've ever had a fresh made mole dish.
Chili, tacos, burritos, enchiladas, etc are just the Tex-Mex tip of Mexican cuisine. I'm no expert but I have a couple of books and use 'em when I've got the time. Some ingredients for Mexican are impossible to find in Aus tho and probably in the UK too.
But don't try to enlighten her. Just thank her for the chili and then give her a dutch oven. Chicks love that.
