What significance would it be in changing the  numbers (fat) if you cooked lean ground beef, ran it under water and tried to eliminate all or as much grease as possible?

if you let 93/7 beef soak in water and grill (george foreman preferably) it...you can remove additional fat...which i'm assuming is a lot of brown fat along with white fat. i'm not sure how much of that 7% but you can see the fat run/cook off.

So how do you do this exactly? Brown some, say 80/20 and then rinse it a few times in a strainer with hot water?

You don`t.  If you rinse 80/20 you may as well just throw it in the trash.  It will be inedible.

Paper towels on the counter and pat out the beef.....gets rid of tons of fat.

Could just buy 95/5 LOL!!

if u can remove additional fat from 93/7 and it's edible than 80/20  ???

i guess that's not in wiki for you to look up.

Fellas, bb is about food as fuel.....whether or not it's edible is irrelevant.  If dog turds would add 2 inches to our arms we'd all jet to the local pound with a shovel and a bucket.

93/7 is inedible by itself.  I would throw the package straight in the trash if it ever somehow magically found its way to my house. (I would NEVER EVER buy it as there is no cooking application for it to be used)

But see thats just it.  Rinsing beef is pointless when it makes no difference what you eat, provided you eat like a normal human being.  You don`t need as much protein as you think you do, especially if a Natural.

Eat for taste and you will get the same results.

Rinsing ground beef is retarded.  If you are worried about the fat content, go to a real butcher shop (where you should be getting meat from anyway) and pick out the leanest piece of meat you can find (usually eye of round) and have them grind it for you.

I grind meat myself.  If anyone wants to eat the best burger they should start doing so.  I grind  50:25:25 blend of sirloin, chuck, and brisket or 50:25:25 Short Rib, Chuck, Brisket.

Or for the Ultimate Burger, go with the Blue Label Blend-
6 ounces beef sirloin, trimmed of gristle, and cut into 1-inch cubes
5 ounces beef brisket, trimmed of gristle, and cut into 1-inch cubes
12 ounces oxtail, fat and meat carefully removed from bone and trimmed of silverskin, bones discarded or reserved for another use (about 5 ounces of combined meat and fat)
Procedure (Meat Grinder)
