Ok here is the deal in general terms.
Steroids done in moderate amounts in most males over 25, will have a max bennefit and minimum risk.
I use prescribed Androgel and get yearly blood work down to check all key levels in my body.
At 51, I have been on it under my Doc's care for 6 yrs now. I have the stable testosterone levels of a healthy male in his 20's and NO side effects. All my blood/hormone levels are in the ideal range and stable.
Most who aspire to be top bodybulders will abuse the drugs. I am no drug expert, but fear the top pros may take risks with their health and the law. That is the real issue for me. To take enough to make a major difference requires a lot of extra money$$ , and possible health and/or legal risks. A small , sensible cycle to see what they do, isn't a big risk, but e sensible and careful. It is far better to go on the low side , if you choose to do it. Honestly, my advice is to NOT do any steroids , if you are training for personal reasons, see what you can do without it.
I did small amounts of the basic , known steroids, one at a time, for 3 yrs back in the mid 80's.
It helped me get cut and ready for contests and that was my main use at that time.
I competed from 1987 to 95 without any drugs and did just fine. I was never going pro and enjoyed the challenge of seeing what just me, my body and hard work could acomplish.
