Adonis--Question (Others Feel Free To get in also)
« on: September 25, 2010, 01:48:09 PM »
we are roughly the same height, Im maybe an inch taller.
You are 156 pounds. You stated that I would weigh the same as you or less  ::) in order to be very lean.
OK lets look at the math. When I started this weight loss thing, I was 278 pounds. I went to a fitness place and had my bodyfat done and was told it was  27%. Some people on here said higher so for rounding out sake lets say 30%. I had not lifted weights in AGES when I got back on the program.

So, lets factor in the fact that I must have to put some muscle weight back on as I am lifting heavy in the gym again, going hard.

I want to know how you come up with me losing over 120 pounds while putting back on the muscle I had lost while not weight training.  In no way shape or form can I come up with me being 156 pounds, ever. By the math, I'd have to be dead and decompose to reach that weight.

I am actually seriously asking this, not fuking around. I completely dont understand how you can figure this.

old pics I havent tossed any up lately

one big factor (I think but have absolutely zero idea) is that I have pulled 6 inches off my waist according to the tape measure while arms, chest, quads, calves have actually gone up, although very small amounts

Plus when you start getting super lean you start to lose muscle... its natural...  not saying you'll be exactly that weight but sometimes you just end up lighter than you think you would....

If you are 278 at 30% bf and say you wanna get down to 3%, ideally with no muscle loss you would lose 75 lbs

278 X 0.27 = 75 lbs

275-75 = 203 at 3% bf

but we dont live in an ideal world and you are bound to lose some muscle so say you'd be 180-190 at 3%  ;)

3% is incredibly low. Adonis is lean, but no where close to 3 %.

Everyone ALWAYS overestimates how much they will weigh when they are dieted down.
That said, to be in the kind of shape TA is in I'd say you'd land in the 180s.

Wasn't talking about Adonis, was talking about Disturbia and if he really made it down to 3%

As I said its not an ideal world, so it would be VERY hard to truly get down to 3% - this was just for example sake!

What are you,

5"10? around there?

You're looking at being around 175 - 180 with abs.

Currently holding a lot more fat than you realise.

EVERYBODY (at least natural guys) has to lose more weight than first imagined to look "ripped"

You're not really going for 3%?  10% would be a great healthy and very lean goal I would think.

The 278 is with relatively no recent training. Which means he could get to 20% bodyfat and under and still put on some muscle. Since he was in shape years ago, his body will have some sort of rebound effect. My guess is he could be around 205-210 at 10%ish bodyfat.  I'd say adonis is around 7 or 8%. For disturbia to get into any kind of contest shape 5-6%. I'd say he would be in the light heavy weight range. 190ish with min/hormones. 180ish natural

It's crazy, you may see the outline of abs at 210lbs, but then have to come down to 170 for them to be fully visible.

It sucks, but once you get there it's like no other feeling. Being in shape for the first time in your life.

Just remember, If you keep doing what you're doing, you'll never get anything more than you currently have...

Meaning you'll wake up in a years time STILL overweight. Do you really want that?

Not according to Adonis.

Remember when he first started spouting off about the Adonis Principles?  And when he claimed to have found the formula that tells you exactly how many calories you need to eat per day?

He claimed that if you lifted weights and ate the minimum amount of protein literally every ounce of weight loss was fat.
