the reason Im curious is I am eating in the 2000-2200 range, and train weights 3-4 days a week and do a shitload of cardio. The carb question however arises from the fact that I sleep a million times better if I have some carbs in my stomach (usually rice) rather than nothing or just a shake. The difference is MASSIVE is I can get those carbs in near bedtime. So I asked because if I am sticking to my proper calorie amount, does it matter if I eat 30 or 40 grams of carbs near bed?

i think the answer would be to replace those evening carb calories before bed with a "good fat" like a tablespoon or two of Natural peanut butter

is that really true?  Im asking for an important reason

last night for example i ate

dinner- i think it was about 500-550 calories(6.00pm)
Peanut butter chicken breast(6oz)
1/4 cup(uncooked) brown rice mixed with frozen carrots/peas

30minutes lifting

12oz milk
1-1/2 scoop whey
hershy chocolate syrup
1/3 cup craisins
sun chips (100 cals worth)
pb and jelly sandwich (220 calories)

in bed by 11.00pm

You could get a near 10 lbs bucket of Low Carb perfect whey and only nourish yourself from that. It would save you huge amounts of money.

it would work better if you were a lot leaner. then your body would be a furnace and you could get away with it. the other factor apart from metabolism is your bodies own propensity to hold fat from eating certain macros. some guys can eat excessive amounts of carbs and not have it dent them. other can look at 2 cups of rice and have it be adverse. thats why a lot of guys have to parition nutrients, ie fats and carbs cause taking them together doesnt work out so well for them.

if your eating them right after your workout in moderate amounts and then going to bed then i would say a lot of that would go to replenishing glycogen. anything after that glycogen gets replenished could go to fat stores. stick with what johnny no name said- protein and a tablespoon of natural PB, or i like whole omega3 eggs as well.

energy to burn of the macros....so tell me how this is somehow beneficial over carbs in a deficit??????
