we have been sending out radio signlas into the space for years trying to get some contact with someone/thing And they have hard signal a few times which they couldn't figure out.

Ummm...that would take 10,000 years to get that far. lol

Distance = time in this case. It takes 1 year to travel 1 light year at the speed of light. We been sending radio signal for just over 100 years, which would mean just over 100 light years away.

The signals too, may not get very far. A couple light years at best as background noise in space destroys the signals. Which could also be the reason we haven't heard from any 'Alien Radio Stations'.

You are right, it's very likely that nothing detectable gets that far. It's the background noice and the scattering of the waves.

The distances between objects in the Universe are so incredibly vast it is reasonable to think we'll never visit, nor be visited by other beings, assuming intelligent life exists. It's unlikely we'll ever visit the outer reaches of our own solar system for that matter, as it would take a conventional rocket thousands of years to merely reach the Oort Cloud, if it exists, which is only 1 light year or so away.

That sounds a bit pessimistic. There are natural laws and phenomenon that are yet to be discovered, that could radically alter things and make travelling cosmic distances possible in a way we can never think of at present.

A couple of hundred years ago, people would have said that it's impossible for someone in Europe to hear what someone in some Asian country was saying. While that's technically true, we've got phones that make it possible now.

Same goes for long-distance space travel - not feasible with the current technology, but could very likely happen, although I'm obviously just speculating.

We send signals on just a few frequencies. We just assume they might be picking them up. It's highly doubtful we'd ever get through to any alien beings. An entire universe could be listening, but not on our frequency.

Even with the best technology it would take something like 100,000 years to go 20 light years. That is one hell of a long way. We can't imagine a self-sufficient space ship being able to do that. Imagine getting a crew to man it? It would be a one-way trip to nowhere. How many generations would that be? 4000? Absolutely unthinkable.  Light goes 186,000 miles per second so imagine how light goes in 20 long years. Man will get to Mars and perhaps some of the moons of Jupiter and Saturn but that is about it. Interstellar travel seems a pipedream at the moment. Yes, technology is still young and who knows what the future will discover. However, I have doubts that fast travel will be possible between the stars.

The planet is similar to the moon in that the same side faces its star much like the moon faces the earth. That means one side would be boiling and the other freezing cold. That would produce huge storms if they have an atmosphere similar to earth but we don't know that yet. Any possible life would have to evolve in a narrow band near the edge of the planet where temperatures would be moderate. I have my doubts that life as we know it could evolve there. Maybe having seasons and day and night like we have are part of the requirements? This is still all speculation. There are NO radio signals from space that are not natural. In other words, the only signals out there came from our planet. Even though the likelihood of life elsewhere seems good, finding intelligent life and a civilization both close and current is another thing altogether. We may well be alone or if we are not we are unlikely to ever find anyone else out there. I can imagine humans eventually populating this galaxy called the Milky Way which has perhaps 100 billion stars. Andromeda is the closest other galaxy but it is 2.5 Million light years away and that seems impossible to bridge. The shows such as Star Wars are complete nonsense. You cannot have conversations across interstellar space. To talk to someone on the moon takes 1.5 seconds for the signal to get there and 1.5 to get it returned. To talk to someone in another star system would take years and years just to be received.

what about if the "race" has evolved for another billion years..? then traveling between stars isn't so amazing.. maby they can teleport or wherever they can put a beam on or a signal on etc..
