Blood pressure - is 144 over 73 bad??

I seen a bp machine at shoppers earlier today. it was 144 over 72 with resting HR of 77.

That. You'd need multiple readings at all different points to have an accurate measure. Also, Cuff size has a lot to do with accuracy. If you have decent sized arms, the standard cuff won't be accurate.

no I think that's in the normal range , funny you mention that this is the last one I took at the super market
124/71/78 it was in the normal range

If you chill for a few minutes and take it again, you will get different numbers every time.

123/78 is pretty cool

The diastolic number (the lower) is the one you need to pay attention to.

The systolic will flucuate quite a bit in a few moments time.
