Very little if any research is done with bodybuilding-type training but with other types of training research is done almost all the time.

Thats because other types are for performance based activities. Bodybuilding is aesthetic based.

Nope that's how your average joe overtrains and turns to steroid.s

Average Joe will not overtrain. And that is part of the problem. Controlled overtraining is needed to get great results.

Exactly what I was talking about. The other day I responded to a good friend of mine who writes for Ironman, he did an article on Military presses and said that it wasn't necessary to perform them because of the injury risk. Long story short he posted it on FB and I respectfully responded stating that if some performance exercises were done the risk of injury would be greatly reduced when performing that movement. We went back and forth with him saying, and I'm paraphrasing, "I'm talking about bodybuilding not performance/athletic training".

If you need an article instructing you how to work out you probably shouldn't bother with it because you are a genetic dead end.

Vince, how come there are no articles written by you? Why do you have training videos of someone doing a wrist curl with 8lb DB's? What market are you targeting?

The videos is a Wordpress Plugin called Tubepress that puts up the most popular bodybuilding recordings from Youtube.  You can use the same program yourself Joe to put all of your videos on your website.

As far as the articles are concerned, some of them are mine but I also bought the rights to several defunct magazine's articles so I publish those as well.

research is expensive. those who have the money to fund research don't exactly prioritize 'bodybuilding'.

and alot of the research that could be interesting for us who lift weights is poorly designed.

if you are into what is happening on molecular level there is alot of stuff to read but not many people are interested in that level of detail (nor is it necessary to know most of that shit). more 'direct' (intelligenly designed) research would be cool. and with large samples.

yet there is stuff (interesting research) out there if you take a look.

You have one that does not flow with your graphics on your website like mine and you have to manually update the posting for every new video where if you used the wordpress plugin it would not only flow smoother but it would update automatically

But Joe is a REAL trainer who trains real people.  You on the other hand are NOT a trainer and you have NO clients.  So yes you have a better website, but it doesn't do anything when nobody uses it.

i'd like a book that does this, for once:

1.  you're fat, eat this
2. you have no muscle, lift this, this often, this many times
3. you're out of shape, do this for this long

Deep Tissue Massage

The funny part about that is more people ask me about training than ask you in and out of the gym and you are suppose to be a trainer.  How fucked up is that.  Well I guess having a past does help in some ways uh?

Online they can't see how out of shape you are.  Come to any gym in the South and they will laugh you out of the facility...that is if you can even squeeze through the doors.

The one thing I can say about this topic is: the more I read, the more I looked for information, the less progress I made.

Find what works for you and stick with it.

This article has changed my training the most: http://trainingdimensions.net/SOS/SOS%202007/Grease%20the%20Groove%20for%20Strength.pdf

I have never applied it 100 %, but I took everything I liked about it and forgot about the rest. It's simple, but oh so effective approach. And it's not even a program, it's a philosophy.

I was talking even when I am in a gym now.  I still have people ask me questions about how to lift.  I guarantee you NO ONE asks you anything about training.  You know it and so does everyone else.  All those worthless letters you have after your name do not mean anything.
