Saudi prince 'faces death penalty over gay claims'

LONDON — A Saudi prince accused of murdering his servant in Britain could face the death penalty in his homeland over allegations of homosexuality, a London court heard on Friday.

Saud Bin Abdulaziz Bin Nasir al Saud, 34, who is a grandson of Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah, is accused of killing Bandar Abdullah Abdulaziz in a top London hotel on February 15 after abusing him for weeks.

The prince is alleged to have murdered the servant in a ferocious attack with a "sexual element".

His lawyer John Kelsey-Fry has denied suggestions that the two men were in a gay relationship.

Prosecutor Bobbie Cheema told England's Old Bailey central criminal court: "Homosexuality is illegal in Saudi Arabia and carries the death penalty which is still applied in some cases.

"The country in which any alleged acts took place would have little bearing on the likelihood of prosecution as the Saudi legal system is based on the sharia law which is considered to be universal."

She said prosecution would be a matter for the Saudi authorities but can depend on the wishes of the person's family. Some relatives push for the harshest penalty if they are deemed to have shamed the family, she said.

Gay Saudis have been granted asylum in Britain on the basis they could face prosecution, "and potentially the death penalty -- or harm if they returned", Cheema said.

Kelsey-Fry said the Saudi law as described to the court would only apply "if it were the case that the defendant had engaged in homosexuality".

The prince, whose mother is one of King Abdullah's daughters, denies murder and a second charge of grievous bodily harm with intent in relation to an earlier alleged assault in a hotel lift.

Saudi prince found guilty of murdering servant in hotel

CCTV of the prince assaulting his servant was shown at the Old Bailey

A Saudi prince has been found guilty of murdering his servant at a hotel in central London.

Bandar Abdulaziz, 32, was found beaten and strangled in the Landmark Hotel, Marylebone, on 15 February 2010.

The Old Bailey was told the assault by Saud Abdulaziz bin Nasser al Saud had a "sexual element" and he had attacked Mr Abdulaziz many times before.

Al Saud, 34, had admitted manslaughter but denied murdering Mr Abdulaziz in their suite at the five-star hotel.

Saudi prince not to give evidence

The Saudi prince was also found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent in relation to an earlier attack in a hotel lift, a charge which he had denied.

The murder of Mr Abdulaziz was the final act in a "deeply abusive" master-servant relationship in which Al Saud carried out frequent attacks on his aide "for his own personal gratification".

The 34-year-old was fuelled by champagne and cocktails when he bit his servant hard on both cheeks during the attack on 15 February, the court heard.

The pair had just returned from a Valentine's Day night out when Al Saud launched the ferocious assault.

Jurors heard that Mr Abdulaziz was left so worn down and injured - having suffered a "cauliflower" ear and a swollen eye from previous assaults - that he let Al Saud kill him without a fight.

Bandar Abdulaziz had been repeatedly attacked by the prince before the murder Al Saud then spent hours on the phone to a contact in Saudi Arabia trying to work out how to cover up what he had done.

Capital offence

The prince claimed he had woken in the afternoon to find he could not revive Mr Abdulaziz.

He said his servant's injuries were inflicted when he was attacked and robbed in Edgware Road, central London, a few weeks before.

But when police reviewed CCTV at the hotel, they found footage of Al Saud attacking his aide in a hotel lift.

Two assaults, on 22 January and 5 February, were captured on CCTV.

In the first of them, the Saudi royal could be seen beating Mr Abdulaziz with his fists and elbows as he cowered in the corner.

If Al Saud ever returns to Saudi Arabia he faces the possibility of execution In court the prince's lawyers tried to cover up evidence of Al Saud's homosexuality.

If he ever returns to his home country he faces the possibility of execution - not because of the murder, but because being gay is a capital offence in Saudi Arabia.

The verdict means a long jail term for the prince, who is a member of one of the world's richest and most powerful dynasties.

Al Saud, who lived in Saudi capital of Riyadh, told police his father was a nephew of the Saudi king and his mother was a daughter of the monarch.

Outside court, Det Chief Insp John McFarlane said: "The defendant used his position of power, money and authority over his victim Bandar to abuse him over an extended period of time."

"This verdict clearly shows no-one, regardless of their position, is above the law."

Al Saud will be sentenced on Wednesday.

Is this surprising given that he comes from the terrorist state of Saudi Arabia? This is the same country that bans non-Muslims from even stepping foot in Mecca (once home to multiple religious groups before the Mohammedans conquered it) and where women aren't even allowed to leave their house without a male family member with them.

Let's not forget the recent news of the maid in Saudi Arabia who had 24 nails hammered into her body by her employers. They're easily among the most violent demographic on the planet.

"Herp derp, Muslims are tolerant and peaceful!"  ::)

Too busy working with them to destroy the 1st amendment and implement Sharia Law.

Here's another example of Muslim tolerance in England but you won't see this mentioned in the MSM, though:

I'm surprised the British government didn't bury it. They love making excuses and hiding the crimes of Muslims.

The prince is a murderer and will have his head chopped off sooner or later.

Times have changed and sadly you would come across several gay men walking around with tight glittery pink shirts and make up on. Not a good sight at all!

Ha ha ha - poor Bolden.  Poor bastard probably had no idea what he was in for when obama picked him and told him what the priority of his goals were to be.

Imagine being a combat vet and having a disgusting communist traitor like obama tell you that your first mission is to reach out to muslims to make them feel good about themselves?
