So we'll read the Mensa Journal next month with the answer in it and find out your real name? Things should pick up after that! :D

My name won't be published by request. The other two guys who solved it are well known. If other people solve it, they can choose to have their names published or not.

You have not solved it. I bet you didn't even understand the problem. But you can prove me wrong by posting the answer since Ross obviously won't bother. And by the way, it it were a problem of "calculations" - which it isn't - you would develop the math necessary to solve it. This is part of being intelligent. Not knowing math is not an excuse to not solve problems. Newton didn't know the math to solve the problem of calculating the area of a curved area, so he developed calculus to do it.

SUCKMYMUSCLE

Never claimed to be super intelligent like Ross did lol (i have tested high, but will not bother even discussing it here lol).  I am just keeping an eye on him, as we met at my gym n he isn't a half bad guy when you get him to calm down and stop screaming when he talks.  The ONLY way to get Ross to listen to you is to gain his respect with your knowledge.  ONLY then will he listen to ANYTHING you have to say  ;)   and "broscience' surely does not fly....

I am VERY interested in the problem, as i LOVE riddles and problems.  You shook my confidence in my solution, but i will throw it your way anyway.........if i am wrong then i am wrong, no big deal

Being that there is no logical way to determine the size of the disks, their speed of rotation nor the point on the disks the dot is located....i related it to the way the planets orbit the sun.  Very similar scenario......

Taking the time at which it takes each disk to reach the position for the first time at which all the dots would be in alignment is crucial for establishing a starting point.  That starting point is the point at which you would start determining how many rotations (or orbits as i envisioned it) it would take for all dots to be in alignment based on its rotational (orbital) speed (time).

The solution i came up with was the time it took to reach the starting point.  Add that to the time of one rotation and you have your first number.  Keep adding the rotational time to that number until a common number for A,B,C,D and E is reached.  Example.......

A = 2min to reach starting point + 7min for rotation.  So 2 + 7 + 7 + 7 and so on (and same equation for B,C,D,E) until common number is reached........

How'd i do?

Are you saying TooGay4U would have trouble lining up the dots on 5 stationary concentric gear discs in a Lego toy set for 6 year olds?

LOL

that, and his brother looks like he belongs on a muscular dystrophy telethon.

he did however care enough to send me this nice pm in regards to my post:

Actually life is pretty good, thanks.  Great job, great new place to live.  Brother won 2 NJ State titles and is in college on a full athletic scholarship and spent the last 2yrs in high school entertaining "wrestling groupies".  Very happy to see the direction his life has been going.....

now if i could stop getting my ass kicked at nationals id be ok lol......but i did win my state show last yr HWT and overall  :)

i glad he seems to not be letting anonymous posters on the internet get to him anymore.

NOT the SQUAT!  LEG PRESS, heavy weight + HIGH REPS!

I'm confused...but then I don't have a 160 IQ but if you can do "high reps" with a "heavy weight" then is it really "heavy weight"?  I seem to find, in my humble gym experience, that the heavier the weight is...the less reps I can do...and vice versa...

but again...I don't have a 160 IQ    :-\

I never know what the hell guys are talking about when they say that either.

"Lift heavy, 12-15 reps."  ???

Quoted for the mother fuckin trufff!! I never understood this either. When i do my heavy sets, i can only do 4-6reps, strict form.
Moderate weight i can do 12-15 reps. Maybe a training guru can explain this to us? paging Goodrum

I've always wondered: if I'm driving a car at the speed of light and 25 yards behind me suckymuscle is behind me also in a car going at the speed of light. If he turns on his head lights will I see it in my rear view mirror?

Ross - was that guys offended about the jokes you made about fucking his wife? I thought it was hillarious!

Also, did you prepare for this routine, or was it partially impromtu?

And how do you deal with hecklers?

My understanding of relativity is that there's no such absolute as one thing moving at the speed of light while something else is sitting still.  If you see a spaceship go past at the speed of light, you say that it is moving at the speed of light, but the guy in the spaceship would be equally justified in saying that he is sitting still and it is you who are moving past him at the speed of light.  Without an absolute reference, we can't say who is moving and who is sitting still.  I think that's why they call it Relativity.

Now imagine a planet moving relative to us at the speed of light, and standing on that planet is a guy with a telescope watching you and sucky.  You and sucky are stuck in a traffic jam, making no progress at all, and the sun is going down.  Sucky turns on his high beams and you swear and flip the mirror.  According to the guy on the other planet, you're both moving at the speed of light but you saw sucky's lights because you flipped your mirror.

If you and sucky are both moving at an equal and uniform speed then the laws of physics apply just as they would if you were both standing still, because you can be said to be either moving or standing still depending on the frame of reference from which you observe yourselves.

Thanks man!  The routine was not prepared, I had a basic outline in my head that I followed, basically just mental "bulletpoints".

I need the HATERS!  Without them, I have no power...;)

This is a great point.  I hate it when idiots say 'durr i like to trains with high reps + HEAVY ASS WEIGHT yup yup peanut'  If it's high reps then it's by definition not heavy weight.

Ross doesen't have an 160 IQ. His IQ is probably around 120 which is what you get when you convert a childhhood IQ of 135 into an adult IQ. It is amazing to me that there are people who believe this clown has an IQ on the level of Darwin, Kepler and Maxwell. Incredible. But then there are people here who believe that GH15 is a pro bodybuilder, so I am not surprised.

"HEAVY WEIGHT" is entirely SUBJECTIVE.  Do you consider 315lbs HEAVY weight on the bench press?  Most people do, but for me it's MODERATE weight.  Try repping 315lbs 15 times and see what kind of growth you get.   You'll grow MORE than from super heavy sets of 4-6 reps.

Do you understand that an IQ test measures VARIOUS aspects of COGNITIVE FUNCTION?  You are a fool...LOL!

In addition, you seem unable to comprehend the difference between performance IQ, verbal IQ, and FS IQ.

How do you say it?  "Ick"?  How come there's no u after the q?  My teacher said there's always a u after q.  If they're so smart how come they can't spell?

No, IQ tests measure a general facor of intelligence, and the different batteries only use different mechanisms to measure it. Smart people tend to be smart overral and dumb people tend to be dumb overral. A verbal analogies test and a number sequence test both measure the same ability to think, which is the basis of intelligence. Just because one uses a verbal item and the other a mathematical one makes no difference to this.  A great writer like Hemingway and a great mathematician like Gauss were overral much smarter at everything than average people. A top medical surgeon is overral much smarter than an average person, and so on. Show me a Harvard math professor who is only brilliant at math and a complete moron at everything else. There isn't, because understanding math on the level necessary to becoming a Harvard math professor requires you to be able to understand a level of complexity that translates into understanding other complex things, like how an engine works, the grammar of foreign languages and how the financial World works(as examples).

You did 12 half reps, I bet you couldn't even do 6 full reps, sounds like it's pretty heavy for you

It's actually a question from the "Sigma Society Test", Level VII, question #25....

And certainly more than 3 people in the world have solved it.
