The massive cache of almost 400,000 Iraq war documents released by the WikiLeaks Web site revealed that small amounts of chemical weapons were found in Iraq and continued to surface for years after the 2003 US invasion, Wired magazine reported.

The documents showed that US troops continued to find chemical weapons and labs for years after the invasion, including remnants of Saddam Hussein's chemical weapons arsenal -- most of which had been destroyed following the Gulf War.

In August 2004, American troops were able to buy containers from locals of what they thought was liquid sulfur mustard, a blister agent, the documents revealed. The chemicals were triple-sealed and taken to a secure site.

Also in 2004, troops discovered a chemical lab in a house in Fallujah during a battle with insurgents. A chemical cache was also found in the city.

I'm too lazy to post the link, but I read a small blurb in todays NY Post and Daily News about it. Apparently, there were WMD's in Iraq. I guess an unintended consequence of leaking hundreds of thousands of classified documents is that you probably wouldn't take the time to read them all.

Why would it? Assange has all but admitted that he's trying to take down the US govt. and even his employees have said the company is going bankrupt because of his vendetta against the US. He's a fucking scumbag who, along with the MSM, had no qualms about releasing the names of Afghan informants and the like, despite the fact that it put them and their families at risk of retribution by the Taliban. A true dirt bag.

These "leaks" haven't proven shit beyond the fact that Iran has played a direct role in the murder of thousands of Iraqi civilians by arming, equipping, financing and training the insurgents and Shiite death squad militias.

that being said - why didn't Bush, repubs, FOX news share this intel? We found WMD and none of them noticed? IMO, Bush would be on tv holding up the nuclear rods himself, saying "toldja so" to keep congress in 2006.

My guess is that the govt. doesn't think the leaks are important enough. I'm sure if he was leaking something big they'd have killed him already.

Crazy conspiracy theory I just thought of= Julian assage ( or whatever his name is) is still alive because Obama views Iraq as an unjust war and the US as a colonizing force. Therfore, fundamentally, Obama agrees with what he's doing and wants Iraq to become unpopular with the American public again.

If the US is as powerful as it's portrayed to be, this POS would be fertilizer by now. No way he's breathing unless Obama gave the order not to kill him.

This is highly in question because at the time support for the war was waning. I wouldn't be surprise if the evidence was insignificant or unsubstantial. I remember a few years ago on this forum people saying 500 or some thing old artillery shells that carried chemical weapons that were probably left over from the iraq iran war were proof of wmd's. This sounds like the same thing. That's why the Bush admin never pointed to this stuff we are finding out now.

All of this crap listed does not justify the billions of dollars wasted and the thousands of American lilve lost from a war that was based on lies.

Instead of releasing govt. leaks from other countries, this guy's life now revolves around the US. Not to mention that their editing and handpicking of documents/videos destroys any credibility they have as an objective organization.

Him releasing the names of people working with the US and against the Taliban, thus directly endangering not only their life but the lives of their family and friends, is a complete scumbag move and shows this guy's true colors.
