I just don't understand why he had to put the dog down.  There are hundreds of dogs out there walking around with only 3 legs.  Even if he was old and had arthritis of the joints, why not let him pass on his own time?

YEa, I kinda didn't get it. It seemed healthy enough. If a dog is still eating and able to get around, it's still a good dog.

If anything, I almost believe that the owner was just some selfish, downtrodden, homeless man whose new shelter is nontolerant of pets, who then (due to his overly egoistic/selfish ways) decided that instead of living without his dog or even allowing another person to benefit from his companionship, he'd rather put him under.

I felt more angered than anything else after watching that debauchery,

I don't move anywhere that doesn't allow dogs. My last place said we (my girl and I) could have pets and then turned on us throwing the eviction notice at us for having a dog and cat. Which they can't even do, but since it was a basement apartment and didn't want to have to see these fuks everyday and battle with them, we moved to a condo that allows pets.
