YEa, I kinda didn't get it. It seemed healthy enough. If a dog is still eating and able to get around, it's still a good dog.
If anything, I almost believe that the owner was just some selfish, downtrodden, homeless man whose new shelter is nontolerant of pets, who then (due to his overly egoistic/selfish ways) decided that instead of living without his dog or even allowing another person to benefit from his companionship, he'd rather put him under.
I felt more angered than anything else after watching that debauchery,
