I love Heenan and Gorilla.

"I've never seen anyone get up from one."

Yet, another reminder that I'm getting old.

I actually remember when a DDT signaled the end of a match, and guys didn't sell them with somersaults and handsprings.

The DDT was always my favorite but only the way Jake Roberts does it. He throws that "snap" into it.

Another two that I love were:

The dooms day device by the Road Warriors

The Demolition Decapitation by Demolition.

So true..the whole story of his match was him hitting that move.

Remember when he did it to Steamboat back in 1986 on SNME on the concrete? The sound that it made when Steamboats head really hit the ground? And this was prior to the days of haveing a mat at ringside....

Always loved Roberts DDT.....just an incredible move that with his superior ring psyche, he built it up and built it up and then BOOM !!!

even though it has obviously been done to death over the last 25 years, Hogan's Big Boot/Leg Drop was actually a pretty good move combo IMO.

I always laugh when someone says that move wasn't believable..It's a 300 pound guy jumping and dropping his leg across your throat.

And that's what put him over and made him millions. Look at the Rock with the "people's elbow"? Or Cena with the "you can't see me". Same deal. Maybe we should invent a stupid move and make millions too.  ;D

Can't be any better than Crush's "Heart Punch" from the late ninties.

The only two wrestlers who should be allowed to perform that move are Ox Baker and Stan Stasiak..... 8)

yup. when he actually does it right and jumps properly.

granted, he got a bit lazy sometimes, but still, when done right its a great finisher, esp. preceded by the big boot.

I've always liked the half-crab/scorpion deathlock.
There have been some guys over the years who've come up with some very clever ways of getting into the move.
Bret could seemingly hit it from any position, and Lance Storm often prefaced it with a beautiful roll-through.

Ironically, I cared for Sting's version the least.
The way he put it on made it appear as though the only reason he could hook it was because his opponent let him. :-\

While slightly different from a traditional SDL, I also liked Dean Malenko's cloverleaf variation - particularly the speed with which he could apply the hold.

the Gogoplata doesnt do anything for me as a finisher, nor did the Banzai Drop. Essentially Yoko was simply sitting on someone whereas Earthquake had the presence of mind to build up the move by setting it up using his aftershocks (much more of an impact IMO).

On the flip side, the Bushwhacker Battering Ram has to be one of the worst moves ive ever seen in any org, by andyperformer(s). Yet as a kid i completely bought its effectiveness! Perhaps thats the real beauty of making a finisher more than just good, the ability to have the crowd buy it hook, line and sinker.
