That incident was real. I was there that day at Stirling Castle Scotland. What was worse was that up and coming giant 21 year old Strongman Tom Hawk who was helping actually dropped dead of a heart attack right in front of the TV cameras. You can see him in the background helping the British team in the rope pull event, 6ft 2 300lbs with blond hair white shirt and black shorts. He was dead within 1 hour of this event completing.

Thats right Big Al,i remember Tom doing a few bodybuilding shows as a junior then moving into strongman events.I heard the story that he did the truck pull,but the tv producers asked him to do it again for a different camera angle,and thats what caused the heart attack.

Crownshep, I'm sure Tom was featured in one of the bodybuilding magazines each month before he died, maybe Muscle and Co?? He was a massive guy. His girlfriend was much older and looked like a red indian squaw.

With RARE exception, everything on television is scripted.

there was also that Samoan guy (or Tongon or something) American, had a pacemaker in his twenties and then died a few years later. I can't recall his name but he was famous for reverse grip benches

I wouldn't say he's "insanely fat" but he's over 300 lbs at 6'5. He co-presents UK's Strongest man now.
